Just Wanted to Share My Income Streams

Hi everyone. Just wanted to take a few minutes to share my income streams. Not trying to brag, just trying to show people that if an average-joe like me can do it, then so can you. Here they are:

KDP (Kindle eBooks): $200-$300 monthly from a handful of books selling @ $0.99 to $2.99 each.

Google AdSense: About $550 per month from 11 niche websites each earning about $50 per month.

Amazon Associates: $550 to $750 per month (used to be much higher) promoting products on niche websites and two authority sites.

These three took A LOT of time (about 2 years) to build, monetize, etc. These days they're mostly passive income so I'm happy for that. It's funny- looking back now I realize that I could have built everything much faster had I known what I know now, but whatever

Main income streams (where the serious money is):

Promoting affiliate offers to email subscribers: $7,500 to $12,500. Guys, this is where the money is at. I promise. Not being biased just because it's worked for me or anything like that. I've tried every money making method out there, and as far as hourly rate, effort, initial investments, etc are concerned, this is the best route to take. Just build a landing page, bring in traffic (free or paid, I prefer paid), and build your list. You need to have good email marketing skills though (just watch a bunch of YouTube videos on it and you should be fine).

Coaching 1-on-1: $2,000 to $3,000 per month. again, offered through my email list. build enough credibility and this becomes easy.

I've dabbled in flipping websites but kinda sucked at it never tried MLM or anything like that either. My biggest turning point came when I invested $2,500 in soloads a few years back. It was close to all the money I had at the time. Over the course of 2-3 months, I had 5,000 subscribers, most highly targeted. I made my money back quick promoting affiliate offers. Occasionally, I get paid to write blog posts, sales pages, and other copywriting stuff too.

My main message? Burn the boats. Sounds cheesy, but seriously- you've got to be willing to sacrifice any short-term comfort now for any long-term success you may experience. It's the only way. "You can't focus on Plan A if you have a Plan B"...that sort of stuff. Anyway, thanks for reading. Good luck in your own endeavors guys.

Most people will be met with aggression for posting this type of thread, for what ever reason. A lot of people believe you're trying to make yourself look successful in order to market to them.

While I'm sure some people do that, it's pretty easy to tell them apart. I try not to be skeptical, because I know it's easy to make money online if you know what you're doing.

        Take this for instance -

        My income streams -
60% rev comes from FB diet offers
        30% content sites
10% various methods I dabble in each month

If I were to tell you each of those streams were in the 5 figures, would you believe me? what about 3 figures? What if I said I'm a partner in a 7 figure a year firm?

WF is filled with people just starting out, or people that have been in the game for years and still haven't figured it out - And that's Okay, people learn and progress at different levels. There just seems to be a lot of resentment towards the ones that actually make it.

I see where you're coming from. I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes or anything (we all have to start somewhere). It was only very recently that I started teaching my mother and girlfriend how to build their own sites...that was fun lol They both see it as nothing more than a hobby, but then again, they both love their regular jobs so more power to them.

You're fine, and it was a well thought out post. I don't mind it, I like seeing people become successful, especially on their own. I started out on my own, but I've been really lucky because I've gotten a few major breaks in terms of knowing people and making the right connections.

That's good you're teaching them, and I know exactly what you mean. I've tried helping multiple friends, having them come and work for me full time, and only one of them had the drive to stick it out. After a few months, I showed him how to break off on his own.

I dont have anything for sale and I have been attacked on more than one occasion because I posted based on personal experience and with big numbers in some what ended up becoming controversial threads.

People who haven't yet made it who also have resentment issues are just projecting their baggage and failure onto those who have made it in an effort to make themselves feel better for not yet figuring it out or just being quitters.

Anyways, nice share to the OP. Those who are seeking the value will see value in what you shared.

Others who are always quick to pick stuff like this apart will in due time, if they haven't yet already.

Yes, I remember this first hand with a few Members a few months who were attacking you. And you were saying how you support your family and were taking out a lump sum.

As I recall one member refused to believe it and called you names etc..etc..It was really shocking to me when this happened( especially since this was a long standing member)

To me that really truly makes me wonder about that Member and whether he is actually making it or not. He purports he does but Iam not so sure after that tirade against you

Its really sad when people have to resort to attacking because they refuse to believe others can be successful at this business and a lot of it is just jealousy

Yeah it is unfortunate. Some people are just bitter, especially the ones who have been around forever, have high post counts, but still little to no income.

Instead of trying to extract some value from the successful people who still want to contribute, they resort to the hating.

Oh well, my business is still growing and they are wasting their energy being mad that myself and many others in here are succeeding when they are not.

Awesome post. Thanks for confirming what i have been fighting to avoid, building an email list.
Now i am convinced that building an email list is the same as acquiring an asset.

I have just started a few days ago though with free traffic as i do not have the $$$ yet to invest in solo ads to grew it faster but i know soon i will have.

I 100% agree...we're here to share knowledge and learn from others, and there literally is no downside to doing that. I've never got into the coaching end but it sounds like you're really doing great- congratulations.

Great post what is nice to see you do not have all your eggs in one basket. If for some reason you got hit hard in one area, you still have other streams of income to support you. This what really gives people power over their lives. If the boss showed you the door and you had other streams in place. The Income loss would not be as severe. Hopefully others will eventually have 3-4 other different streams of income to meet their needs. Thanks for sharing the information !

I totally agree with you. For most people, an extra $500 to $1,000 per month in passive income won't make them financially free, but it will definitely give them options. I call it my "baseline" income: once I've reached a steady passive income stream I'm comfortable with, I'll take a week or two off from any online marketing stuff (to clear my thoughts), then come back and try to scale everything up to a new, higher baseline. Just keep doing this until you're at the income level you're happy with. Takes time though, which is what people don't realize. Fortunately, you can cut this time in half pretty much by learning from people who've been there (it's what I do now). Never stop learning

Thank you. About 2 years ago, maybe a little less, I invested almost all of my life's savings ($2,500) in solo ads over the course of two or three months. I ended up with about 5,000 subscribers. Made my initial investment back in no time. Since then I've built this particular list much higher, although, I don't just have one list (I have dozens for different niches). Obviously, if you pay for traffic to your landing page then you can increase it faster, but you don't have to do this. Great lists can be started with nothing more than a simple landing page and extreme DETERMINATION. If you really want it, you'll find a way...I live by John Chow's motto: make your WANTS become NEEDS, and you can't fail. Good luck

Inspirational story. I love how transparent your posts are. Interesting to know that solo ads are still working as well. I had a nice little list build up a few years ago, purchased with solo ads, I just never capitalized on it.

Great to know that some people are making money online, and not just in the making money online niche. I know I don't want to be just another one of "those" marketers.

Very informative and helpful post. I applaud you for sharing this with others.

I agree with you that search or even paid traffic can produce quality opt-ins, but I'm not sure about solo ads. I've read so many posts describing solo ads as useless since the list members are already exposed to sooo many offers.

How did it work out well for you? Do you still recommend solo ads?

Yes it's nice to see some intelligent threads on here.

I've been in MMO since 1999:

First money made - from writing articles after responding to "write for us" ads on sites.
Second money made - shareware business in B2B niche. Big money made here!
Third money made - mini niche sites and churning out articles.
Fourth money made - membership site launched off the back of mini niche sites (before the got smoked by Penguin/Panda!)

Current main income stream - made a loss making marketing tool which allowed me to put MVC on my resume. Now working as software developer for $$$$$.

This is nuts. I'm happy to see people still getting inspired from this post I haven't been on WF in a while. BIG life events happened in the past six months (got married, expecting a baby, crazy!). I'm actually gonna be putting up a WSO offer here soon. Seeing so many people benefit from this got me motivated

What an absolutely inspirational post! I love the part where you mentioned email marketing, building a list, promoting affiliate products and your preference to use Solo ads.

I just started using a landing page and driving Solo Ad traffic. I was able to build a substantial subscribers list in a short time along with sales on affiliate products.

So I am glad to hear that is where you recommend where the money is. Nice to know I am heading down a path that has been proven. Thanx!!

PS Like someone mentioned, you do not want to put all your eggs in one basket so I will eventually work on other strategies, one at a time.

Excellent post. Big Mike summed it well. To me the most important thing is developing Internet marketing skills and applying them as well. Most people never learn how to do Internet marketing and never make much money because of it.

          What a headline!

How refreshing. Enjoyed the follow up as well.

I really do not know how the "I have been studying IM for 1 year and made no money yet" people miss these kinds of threads.

Now my friend you have information in your head that others will find valuable. So I would get to work on an infoproduct if I were you.

It grows your list by leaps and bounds with proven buyers and also gains you affiliates as well working for you in your sleep.

Big congrats and high 5. Love your style.

            Absolutely agree with you here.

I mean, SOME people might get lucky and make a lot of money before then, but it's not always a guarantee.

I've noticed that if you can just get the knowledge, the money will eventually come. BUT KNOWLEDGE FIRST!

I've known about this for years and since recently I can confirm it... until summer '15, enlisting in the French Foreign Legion was my Plan B for over a decade. Last summer I decided to hop on the Thalys train and go to Paris (one can enlist at Fort de Nogent near Paris), as I just wanted to see whether I'd really enlist when being so close to Plan B (in fact: I talked to some legionnaires of 2REP, who were patrolling at Gare du Nord station).

Once in Paris I realized that Plan A is truly where my passion/heart is. So after seeing the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and the Notre-Dame de Paris, I decided to return home. Having wiped Plan B off the table, I quickly realized I'm now working on Plan A with complete focus for the 1st time in my life... I always used to believe that I was completely focused, but apparently I wasn't.

Moral of the story: in case you do have a Plan B floating around in your head, just give it a try. You'll either love it and stick to it or, if you're like me, it'll make you realize Plan A is the only plan. Plus, with Plan B out of your way, you'll discover true complete focus re Plan A, without kidding yourself (telling yourself that you're completely focused, while in reality you're not).

            Good luck!

I think this bears repeating. So many people looking to get into this field do not understand this including myself when I first started. I'm actually starting again on just 1 future Adsense site, instead of the hundreds of one page sites I used to have which are now all gone. But this time, I know to build it up over time and not worry about it too much. Just as long as the content is good and unique is all that matters to me now. When its time to place ads on it, I will - but that will be like in 6 mos - 1 year. My mind frame changed a lot on this from experience - lol.

Yup! Gotta learn to sacrifice in this business. Long hours and possibly some money you don't really have. Even if you fail, you'll definitely learn something.

Made my initial investment back in no time. Since then I've built this particular list much higher, although, I don't just have one list (I have dozens for different niches). Obviously, if you pay for traffic to your landing page then you can increase it faster, but you don't have to do this.
I found out that you gotta be willing to spend some money on paid traffic/advertising too. One of my mentors tried to tell me over a year ago that it was great that I was willing to spend money to get positioned in this program that I am a part of still, but I am going to need more ad money to get to a certain income level I mentioned. I didn't quite understand what he was really saying at the time, so I ignored it - not on purpose, mind you, but more out of ignorance. Now, over a year later, I know exactly what he meant now. Now I wish I would have scaled back the position and spent the rest of that money on good paid advertising now. But that brings up another issue for a lot of newbies, which is where and how to spend that money properly in the first place and not waste it. That's why its good to have a mentor that knows what they are doing already.

Funny you mention John Chow. I ended up meeting him at a marketer's mastermind event in the Bahamas last year! We took a picture together after I watched him accept a gold/diamond ring for crossing $1 Million in sales - LOL. It was a great time!

      That's awesome!

I've always wanted to meet him (he's one of the people who got me into IM in the first place). If I remember right, he moved here when he was like 7 and was living in hut-like home with no electricity.

Just goes to show how far you can go when you put your mind to it.
