One way I make money online

I know one thing – you need to sell things – not buy things to make money online.

Here is one way that works - there is no instant button that gives you money - people are not stupid - they part with their money when they believe in the value of what you are offering.

So that’s what I do - I offer value for money.

It took time and energy to learn – there is no instant cash machine.

You have to build a list first off – that’s the key.

Then you have to learn traffic generation. That’s the water that flows the income to you.

You need to have products to offer. Otherwise how will you make money?

Can you fish?
Can you cook?
Can you carve wood?
Can you identify birds?
Can you fix cars?
Do you know herbs?
Do you know beer making?
Do you dance well?
Do you play the guitar?
Do you know acupressure?

Start a site talking about it – make a forum on it – go to other similar forums and offer help and HERE IS THE KEY – GIVE THEM HELP! Give as much as you know and treat people with respect and dignity.

Put a link to your forum in your signature. People will come and create a community and will start believing in your expertise if you take some time with them.

They will WANT you to teach them! Go search for the price of a two year acupuncture program - it's around $30,000 at the low end.

And they are swamped with applicants.

People will pay if they really want to know something - especially if it can turn into a career for them.

But that's only one of many factors - there are all kinds of reasons but mostly just because they like the subject!

Make a course of what you know – I am telling you people want to know it!

Write the course! Write 12 months of it – one lesson at a time. It’s easier than it sounds.

Charge $400 or more for it. Don't be afraid of the price - $400 is nothing for a year long course.

At the end give a certificate of completion. If you can offer an advanced course then do that as well.

I do just this everyday and make a living – you can too!

Just start – make a simple site with a forum on it today.

You might think I am kidding but I am not!

This is a goldmine if you take action. And it’s much quicker than you think. In a month you will be rolling!

Fooling around with $7 dollar products will never make you secure financially. That’s the fact.

I hope a few of you think about this!

Regards
Phil Eugene

    Thanks Phil.

I have never sold any big ticket product of mine. Although I have been making a living for 5-6 years now online, I mostly do it selling other people's stuff. But the more I think about it, the more I realize I need to create and sell my own products.

    Thanks for the reminder.

Yes - and it's important to remember that there are a LOT of people out there who don't care about spending a few hundred dollars - look at the millions buying 1000 dollar iphones!

One problem in the IM field is it's full of people who need to make money and might not have a lot to spend ( hey I know there are a lot of the opposite too and it's easy to get in the mindset that you have to sell low end products to them to get any sales.

Fact is it's probably easier to make money in any other niche - IM'ers are pretty immune to conversion language etc whereas other niches are just focused on their interest and learning more about it.

But the key is start thinking about a high end product - Put a sign over your computer and put a little energy into it every day...

Another great post tonight on this forum ! Several things you have pointed out are so true. Their is a lot of great areas you mention. A large majority of us can teach in these subjects. I high shrunk it down to 3 but you posted more. The $7.00 products and less that people offer here leaves to wonder if they value their time at all ?

I would think some would be qualified to teach a subject on Udemy but you gave a nice idea how they can do it on their own. Great share !

As someone who has spent way too much money on products I don't use, what you said could save a person thousands. You basically gave an outline for success, all you need to do is learn the how (how to set up a website/forum, how to build a list how to generate traffic, etc).

I think the reason people spend money on stuff is that they are trying to avoid the work, so they spend money trying to find a different way to do it. They are information junkies, consumers for entertainment, not people who are going to act on what they read.

It's funny, I've always been so dead-set against that business model but I have to say that many people do want it. I don't know if it's the IM industry or everything in general, but I can't tell you how many times I've told a client how to do something (and being very specific) and then have them turn around and say, "Don't you sell an eBook to teach me more about that?"

And I'll be standing right there in front of them, billing them for my time and teaching them everything they need to know...but some still want the little pamphlet.

I like the way you boiled this down to a simple form. It's amazing how complex I make it for myself sometimes.

But if a person can just create value and tell people about it then they can make sales. No need for fancy sales page creation software or a course on how to get a 'flood' of traffic etc.

    Thanks for sharing your experience.

Thanks for sharing. You definitely have to provide value. People will hand over their money if they feel like they are receiving awesome value from you. Take pride in your work and give, give, give.

Good post Phil. I agree on many points except the price point. I know more than a handful of people (myself included) who do very well with low-ticket items. You just got to talk volume. Otherwise, a great post, a great read.

Don't be ridiculous. Tom! You know companies like Wrigley just waste their time trying to sell $.25 cent packs of gum

Excellent post. I realized this awhile ago and started working an a eBook that provides awesome value. It will be done soon. It's also pretty easy to make a simple membership website where you can charge on a monthly basis. That's what I will work towards once my first book is done.

    Hi Phil,

Reading your post is the most Profound information I`ve read so far since I`ve been trying to succeed in IM.
I play Bass Guitar and Keyboard or Piano (either or) and know Music well enough to teach the average Adult who has always wanted to learn to play an instrument and also understand what they`re playing.

Problem is...I just never found a way to put it into a teaching format.

But you hit the nail right on the head.

    Thanks,

Hey you can make a KILLING in the music market with that knowledge. You should go buy a really crappy music lesson product and also a really higher dollar/bigger one. Pick them both apart. Figure out what each did wrong and well. Then design your own.

People make millions every year from simple little guitar courses.

Nice practical advice. Most people won't take the time out to create a 12 month course, but if you've been creating low-ticket products and you've had some success, it might me time to start creating your own high-ticket product.

I really loved your article, I really think it is absolutely congruent with how I think. I used to be a very valuable lead for people who had me on their lists because I would buy products after products hoping that I would eventually find that one product that would make money for me in just a few weeks. The truth that I learned was that there is no quick way to things. It takes consistency and dedication. There are just three things that I believe are the pillars of making money online. They are :

    1) Getting traffic (The right way, not buying cheap traffic because it will spoil your list)

    2) building relationships with your list - (People buy from people the know, like and trust)

    3) The final one is "VALUE". (Add value to your list d that they feel value in being on your list)

That is my personal opinion and I believe we share the same feeling...
