[ Question ] Landing page and paid traffic

Dear Warriors,
First my English is not good, I hope you understand me
I am an internet marketing newbie and I want to start with landing page and paid traffic, I'll use landing page to give visitors free book or something like this and capture their Emails to promote offer later
before I start I want to know if this good strategy or not ??

    Yes it is a good strategy, but your free ebook should be of high quality. As soon as you start capturing e-mail addresses, start building emotional relationship with your subscribers. You will get good conversion in future. If you build the trust, people will love to buy from you.

    Capturing emails is only first part of the strategy.

    Building relationship with your list is very important, if they like you and trust you, then the chance of they buy something that you promote is higher.

    Remember to always make them take action at the end of your email. Be it a video link, a link to a useful website or affiliate link. Always, always send them somewhere.

    There are 2 things I would like to share:

    (1)
    High Converting Landing Page + Laser Targeted Paid Traffic = Good Optin Rate

    (2)
    Good Optin Rate + Good Relationship With Subscribers = $$$$$

    There are many courses out there teaching us how to do well in (1), but literally very few talking about (2).

    In your case, you mentioned that you will give away some free book (ebook I guess?) once they have signup your email list, so I think it is good to start engaging them through:
    (a) putting a 'PROMPT' or 'CALL TO ACTION' in your ebook so that your subscribers will get in touch with you, e.g. insert an url to your Facebook profile (so that your subscribers can know you better - BUILD TRUST);
    (b) your very first email sent to them, e.g. asking them to provide some feedback or give them your Skype ID so that they will feel that you are ready to help them (and yes, you have to do it!)

    Yes, it is a good start. And believe me many here do not even get this far, sadly enough

    Of course, there is an ongoing effort you will have to give. Like email copy and generating new and fresh traffic every single day to your Sq. Page.

    And that in of itself is a whole other ball game.

    This is not the way to go. See, most of your customers are going to be buying your product right after they opt in. You don't want to wait a long time before you make them an offer.

    I would suggest that after they join your list, send them to your affiliate offer's sales page right away.

    Free content can always be sent to them in your follow up sequences.

      What you have is a classic 'funnel' approach and the good news is that it is tried and tested.

      The devil of course is in the detail, so make sure:
      1. You have a gift of high perceived value
      2. The squeeze page to collect the addresses and specifically the headline is hugely important.
      3. You should be looking to get roughly 50%+ conversions (by conversions I mean the number of people who subscribe to your list having landed on your page - so 50% would be 50 people for every 100 visiting), any lower than 35% and you need to review either the traffic, the squeeze page or the offer.
      4. When you get the person on your list, make sure you start building the relationship AND the promotion of products or services that you believe will help them.

      People very often focus on the first 3 steps and then forget about step 4. This is a big mistake as step 4 will be where you make the majority of your ongoing income.
