What's a good online W9 tax form software?

I'm looking to integrate an automated option in one of our services, where we require our users to submit a W-9 form to us in order to be paid.

I would like for a user to be able to fill out the W-9 form online (on our site), electronically sign it, and then submit it. Once it has been submitted, it's stored securely.

Any recommendations?

    Have you checked the IRS? Many of their forms are now set up to enter info online and then submit the form as an attachment.

    And there's this:

      Yeah, we're looking for something that would basically work something like this.....

      1. user signs up to our service

      2. they need to fill out a W-9 form directly on our site (or iframed from another site) that they can Save and it will be stored either on our servers or on a third-party server (if this software is third-party).

      3. they move on and continue using our service.

      We could probably use a variation of what the IRS offers and have those attachments sent to us, but that's a little more clunky than we're looking for.

        Just a thought. It might be a bit more "clunky" but when it comes to IRS forms I'd rather put the requirement on the person submitting it.

        A link from your site directly to the IRS form that can be completed online, saved and emailed as an attachment might not be as "clean and neat" but totally removes any perception of YOU having access to the form's information or changing it in any way.

    Is an electronic signature acceptable to the IRS?

    All the W9's I've been required to submit, I've always printed and physically signed. But haven't done one in like a year.

    Check out echosign.com just filled out an online w9 and it creates a signature as well. It worked great. Afterwards user can download a copy in pdf form and a copy is sent to the company.
