What does Monetize exactly mean?

Can someone please explain it in simple language.

    Various ways of creating income streams. For example, if you put Google Adsense ads on your blog you are monetizing it with Google's PPC affiliate program. It you were selling a product of your own and you placed a banner on your website that led to your sales page that is monetizing it.

      You can "monetize" on this answer above by implementing those two strategies,
      as opposed to just reading them and not implementing them.

      In simple Language: (My version).

      Some examples:

      You can turn an "idea" into money by bringing it to life.
      (create a product that sells, or an income producing website, (Facebook and Youtube were good ideas) and you just monetized your idea.

      You can turn your knowledge and skills into money.
      (write a book about stuff you know, and if it sells, you just monetized your knowledge and skills).

      You can turn web traffic into money.
      (Warrior Forum converts their current traffic into money by offering the WSO section for a fee to Internet Marketers who want to sell products.
      WF monetizes its forum traffic.

      In turn, Internet Marketers monetize the WSO section by selling Internet Marketing related products there.

      I guess this forum's traffic monetizes this forum's traffic.

    Monetising just means to take whatever you're doing, and add the pieces that let you get money out of it.

    It's not complex unless you make it that way.

      There are so many ways to monetize a site or a blog. Affiliate marketing might be something you want to explore further. As already mentioned, Google AdSense is another way to monetize.

    Monetization means producing a revenue stream from the following assets

    1) Your traffic
    2) Your brand

    Too many people think that you can only monetize your site's traffic. However, they leave LOTS OF MONEY ON THE TABLE by ignoring monetizing their brand.

    The truth is many niche advertisers would love to cut a deal with your blog even if you don't get much traffic as long as you are a PREEMINENT brand in your niche. Maybe your niche has low levels of traffic. Maybe the traffic you DO attract tend to be influential people in your niche. Regardless, there's value in your niche branding.

    Sadly, too many online entrepreneurs assume that just because they have low traffic levels, no one would want to advertise on their sites or sponsor them.

      Simply put - Make Money or if we are talking about "Monetizing Your Blog" that means making money with your blog. How do you do that? The number of ways are endless here are some.

      Sell your own advertising
      Sell affiliate programs
      Sell your own services i.e. coaching, consulting, etc.
      Sell your own products i.e. ebooks you may have written, courses you have developed.
