ADVICE NEEDED: where can I put my content???

Hi All,

I have recently started a news type website in a particular niche. I have hired a writer and I typically post 4-5 news articles related to my niche each day. My problem at moment is that I have very low traffic to my website and I am wondering given that I am paying to have this content written every day is there anything else clever I could be doing with it e.g is there other places I could post this content to get backlinks and funnel some traffic or is there something more clever to do with it that I haven't thought of.

Any advice ye can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Ross

First of all check the quality of your blog: Is your blog have an eye catching title and informative text.
After that you can post your on high PR blogging sites like:
    Blogger.com
    wordpress.com
    blog.comtumblr.com
    https://medium.com/
    http://www.typepad.com/
    http://www.weebly.com/
Share your blog on social bookmarking sites like stumbleupon, reddit, scoopit etc.
Share your blog on social media sites.

Use method of content syndication. There are plugin and services, which will fetch your rss feed in few hours and update all web 2.0 blogs, social networks, bookmarking sites etc. You can further take your content syndication to tier 2 and tier 3 levels.

What are you using to get traffic? Just the content? If so, you'll be dependent upon search engines for that traffic. And the content has to "be a certain way" to attract searches.

I'm interested in the news bit, though. What kind of new is it? Your own? Or is it from other websites? If it's the latter, that would explain everything.

I'd really like to see the site in question.

You can open Facebook page for this and post that in your timeline. That would guarantee you at least the following: Friends will be reading your content and interact with that (like, share etc) and friends of your friends can get that info. In any case the more ways you are using so better for you and your site.

I believe you have a GREAT idea.If you're biggest concern is traffic to your website so you can start seeing some serious conversions for the quality content your website produces, then I recommend studying keyword research inside out, and studying up on SEO. The methods inistelf outside of the MANY traffic methods, will give you a GREAAT headstart.

      Ross,

Maybe you're heard the phrase "If content is king then distribution is queen and she wears the pants in the family."

It's so true. Just putting lots of content on your site is meaningless if no one sees it. You have to distribute your content around the web if you want to get people reading it. You have to take it to the audience that you have targeted and lay it in front of them.

"If you build it, they will come" does NOT apply to Internet marketing.

Social bookmarking and high quality backlinks are key to ranking in the search engines, which is exactly what you need to do in order to drive traffic to your site.
