Yes you should definitely be patient when it comes to blogging. Consistency is important. And definitely having a plan and working that plan. There are going to be ups and downs, but quitting should never be an option.

Throw in a lack of original content as no. 7. I think those who blog for the specific purpose of monetization (i.e. AdSense) make this mistake the most.

To expand on number one. (1. Wrong Niche choosing)

Many people not only choose the wrong niche. But they don't narrow their niche enough. Perhaps for fear they'll either run out of things to write about or lose too many potential viewers.

On the contrary in many cases:
If you're content is focused, unique and engaging enough you'll increase your chance of not only getting more readers - but more loyal readers. Why? Because your information goes where no (or few) others have gone. Google loves that too!

    Happy Blogging

Most folks think they'll write their first 10 blog post and start making money online. I've been there and I know exactly how it feels.

I never used Black Hat SEO and won't advice anyone to do so, I spend my time building backlinks on authority blogs.

Oh yea...Without content marketing, your blog is going nowhere and remember "Content is King"

Patience is a Virtue, I almost quit when I started but decided to seek help and work with pro, this help me to make my first few thousands from my blog.

There are tons of them but I hope this helps the newbies and keep them going

You might want to add another MISTAKE to your list: publishing stuff their target audience members MAY NOT be interested in.

Success tip: Focus on REVERSE ENGINEERING your competition to produce content that has a PROVEN demand volume.

I think a majority of new bloggers are looking to make easy money and want to make it fast. What they don't realize is blogging is a business and in business you need to solve a problem for your readers. If you don't solve problems for your readers, then you will have no business. So for new bloggers ask yourself these questions before you start.

What problems exist in the niche I want to get into?
How can I solve those problems for my readers with a product or service?
Once you answer those questions develop a blog around solving that problem by posting content for your readers to help them with their issue.

Be careful you made it so simple, straight forward and direct many people may miss it, down play it or poo, ppo it. Maybe you should have at least made it sound more complicated or threw in some big fancy words .

Another one is lack of focus. Trying to chase multiple things (blogs, niches) at the same time. Starting new projects before the existing one starts to show results. While most of the big successful websites or blogs have multiple people working on one site, many new bloggers want to have one person (themselves) running multiple sites. This is against the exponential (winner takes all) nature of today's economy.

But I must admit I am also guilty of this mistake and I'm not new. If I had worked all those years on just one project, I'm sure I'd have made much more money. But it's hard to push the delete button on your small/unsuccessful sites when you remember all the work you've put in, so you end up with quite a few "zombie" sites.

    Giving up too early
    Not having unique content
    Not posting enough

These are just a few of additions imo
