Also have a look at Clickbank's official blog. Although it seems to be focused more on the vendor side, it's a good way to get familiar with the environment and learn some useful tips.

Perhaps just one piece of advice: Ignore anyone who pms you now and starts to offer that advice for money.

And perhaps another: Email is the way.

When it comes to making money as an affiliate marketer (what you are when you promote other peoples' products and earn a commission on a sale), it's wise to do so by creating what we call a niche blog (blog that consist of a particular theme like dating, weight loss, electronics...and consist of product reviews and articles about stuff going on in your particular niche) on your own domain. It's also standard to build a list of targeted buyers using an e-mail autoresponder (acts as a second income stream).

Before you decide what niche or product in a particular niche you want to promote, you need to do some research and figure out what niche you want to go into. It should be one that's not only profitable but one you know a little something about (will make things easier for you when you first get going). Thinking about your hobbies is a good place to start. It's also a good idea to have an idea of some of the products you want to promote to get your blog on the ground before you go purchasing a domain name and stuff. You can use the Clickbank categories section or something like the magazine section (automatically broken down into niches) on Amazon to help you with this
