Having a hard time getting traffic

Any good sites to write content on for free? I am looking to submit content, but for free. I rather not pay for content that I write.

How long before you successfully build traffic?

Ideally you should be syndicating your content (and no....content syndication is not 'guest blogging')

Content syndication is such a misunderstood, but extremely effective and powerful way to get laser targeted traffic, build links, and build your authority.

The beauty about content syndication is, if done right, will make your sites immune from any Google updates that come along.

But most people have no clue how to do content syndication the right way.

I could point you to a great resource explaining all about content syndication, but I would be breaking the rules if I mention it here.

Traffic is very crucial. For this, not only the content matters, what matters is your opt-in page, emails(this is contents what you referred to).

Most important is traffic. There are 2 ways to get traffic. One is paid traffic and the other is free traffic.

Paid traffic - Solo ad's, facebooks ad's, banner ad's
Free traffic - Youtube videos(monetize it to make your video to get listed in 1st page), create a facebook page and ask your friends to like your page, you can do guest blogging etc.

Paid traffic - udimi.com(for solo ads)

If you have few dollars, what I recommend is to invest in solo ads. This will definitely fetch you more subscribers.

Later, by your content, you can convert subscribers to leads. And by your product, you can convert leads to buy your product.

If you aren't getting any mileage from this, i.e. Organic search and social traffic comprised of people who search and share more info and details regarding these controversial news stories and trending topics, then:

You probably aren't doing it right ...
Your onsite SEO probably sucks, since the freshness of these controversial news stories gives your posts the opportunity to rank for exact match and long tail keywords ...
You probably aren't doing social media marketing right, since the freshness of these currently trending topics gives your posts the opportunity to be shared across heavily trafficked social communities by people who find you in their searches (see point above) and are enticed enough by your posts to share it with their peers (one of the most important results of social media marketing, in my opinion) ...

If you aren't getting any mileage from this, i.e. Loads of organic social traffic comprised of people enticed enough to check out what you have to say about these things, then:

You probably aren't doing it right ...
The topics you're commenting on probably aren't controversial and attention-grabbing enough for your target audience ...
Your insights probably aren't enticing enough for your target audience ...
Your commentaries probably aren't thought-provoking enough for your target audience ...
You're probably participating and contributing commentaries in the wrong places, i.e. Dead places that don't have significant viewer engagement and activity ...
You can easily train and hire someone who can do this for you and also contribute more, i.e. A native Norwegian-speaking college student in an undergraduate medical degree program (related to your niche) of a densely populated university in one of your target countries, preferably someone who's active in large social circles like fraternities / sorrorities and academic medical groups, for obvious reasons ...

And, doing the things above can allow you to become a familiar name to the owners / Webmasters / admins of those offsite locations and social communities (the right ones, of course), which could increase the likelihood of getting a positive response when you contact them for possible guest posting arrangements, content syndication agreements, ad banner / advert / solo email ad placements and other mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities ...
