Any step by step guide for newbie?

There are lots of step by step guides for newbies, like maybe a MILLION of them. It is actually a huge niche. As a total newbie your first goals should be to (A) learn a lot and (B) avoid spending lots of money on the "latest and greatest step by step guide for newbies to make money online". Do not be too anxious to start making money until you have an idea of exactly how you want to proceed. There is not get rich quick method.

There is a ton of useful information available here on this forum as well as elsewhere online. Start researching, use the search feature here, develop a business plan and stay focused.

Remember - shiny objects are NOT your friend.

People will tell you all kinds of things and you still wont quite get it because its a huge huge niche.

There is tons of information out there. I agree partially when people tell you to learn.

Thing is, if you choose to only learn, you will get no where. You will have information overload disease lol. I've been there.

What I would suggest is you do the following. LEARN,DO,TEACH. Keep it simple.

LEARN by watching a video or something on how to do a certain task. Then DO to put what you learn in to pratice. Then TEACH others how to do it. Teaching will improve you in many many ways.

Start off with the easy things to learn, like making a website (example how to get a domain, hosting)

Right off the bat you can start making money there. Become an affiliate for those services (hosting) and promote it with teaching. Your not charging anyone anything extra anyways. Its a win win situation.

That is a small step on a huge ladder. You will get the idea of how things work, you want to get your feet wet in the ocean of Internet marketing before you go any further.

Heres step by step plan you need to do to make money in this business.

1.) Pick/generate a hot converting offer

2.) Stick with that offer until you make it successful.

3.) Drive traffic (blog, videomarketing, paid traffic....) to a squeeze page and build your list.

4.) Build relationship with that list, market to it, share helpful tips and focus on 80% value 20% promotions.

5.) Take profits, reinvest, scale up

Make it simple and don't complicate too much...

You can master process or outsource anything (copywriting, webinars, technical stuff) you hate doing along the way.

If I'm correct on the math, so far you've been told to spend $238 on courses, pay about that same amount for monthly mentoring and download a bunch of "authority guides" to get you on the right path. And those people are right; that's a perfect example of how to sell something online to a person with a need.

That doesn't answer your question though...it just costs you $500 to be told to sell stuff online.

Instead, go to a free authority site like Hubspot, Moz or Inbound and complete their free courses. Right now you need a basic understanding of Internet Marketing and that can be gained for free...there is no reason to waste your money at this time. Now, if you want specialized help down the road and you have enough knowledge to determine a good WSO from a bad one, then by all means...buy away.

You're definitely not at that point yet though and I don't want to see you taken advantage of. So go to the proven authorities that Fortune 500 companies use and study for free, then come back with specific questions.

There are so many ways to make money online. It all depends on what you are ready to do. You can start earning money if your are a good writer or several firelance websites. iwriter is one of the fastest ways to start earning writing online in just a few hours.

Here is my Newbie Step By Step Guide:

1- Pick a niche

2- Get a Domain. Try to incorporate your main keywords in it.

3- Get a Blog: Get a Paid for one and not a FREE One.

4- Create Content: Put together about 10 pages of useful content related to your niche that can help your visitors.

5- Get a Lead Capture Page: Get a lead capture page created for your target market.

6- Email Software: Get an Aweber (or other software that is compatible to Aweber). This will cost you about $20 per month and you will need to have one to create your list.

7- Traffic Strategy: Pick a traffic generation strategy (one that you feel you can do), learn it and master it.

8- Avoid Shiny Objects: It takes a lot of work to get your business off the ground. And after you figure out how to start getting traffic, keep doing the work and don't stop to look for something 'easier'.

9- Focus: Stay Focused and keep on working every day on your business. This is the hard part for most new marketers. Usually you will end up with some 'seeming' road block or challenge and you will have to learn how to push forward until you figure things out.

10- Long Term Plan: You should now give yourself time to get thing going and working for you. Set aside time each day to work on your business. If you can manage to put in 2 hours of consistent work (every day) then you can start experiencing good results in about a year.

If you want things to happen faster, then you will need to put in about 4 to 6 (or more hours per day on your business).

11- Patience: Yes it does take time to start getting results. And life changing results (if that's what you're after) don't happen overnight.

But the good thing is you can earn while you learn. If you stay focused, remain consistent and keep moving forward, you can 'earn' while you learn. It won't take you a year to make your first sale but it will take you about a full year to start seeing consistent results.

12- Perfection: Don't try to get all of your ducks in line. Most marketers stay Frozen and remain stuck because they are trying to get things perfect before moving forward.

The only way to learn in this industry is by DOING. You will make mistakes along your way and the only way to keep going is by making 'corrections' and getting things to work regarding your marketing.

We learn by taking consistent action, by trial and error and by Growth.

Internet Marketing is such a broad topic with so many different ways of making money.

You should try to take in as much as you can and then choose a path that you feel would benefit you the most. A lot of newbies get carried away with the next best method of making money online that they don't even start at all.

There are heaps of information (whether free or paid) on specific topics. I suggest you pick one and run with it. If it doesn't work, make it work. Step by step guides will only help you get started. Sometimes you just have to think a little outside the box to maximise your profits.

There are a bunch of info on google. But the most important is always to be focused in the plan you choose and never give up, even if you fail several times, because one day success will come if you keep trying.

What niches are you in? Where do you go online? What are your interests?

Although there is some solid info in this thread, rather than look for a guide, figure out where you want to go and how...then seek answers.

I could walk to New York City from Cleveland or I could fly. Most newbs in IM have to walk because they can't afford to fly...but if you don't have a destination, you could go down the wrong highway at full speed and never get anywhere.

SO, begin with a desire to KNOW what you want, then you can choose the HOW and find many people willing to lend you a hand.

Instead of looking for a full system that will lead you directly from A to Z, which would be very expensive even if you managed to find one, focus on building valuable skills - like copywriting, social media marketing, Wordpress design, etc - and reading books by marketers like Seth Godin and Dan Kennedy.

Good ideas will come later. Meanwhile, you can make some very good money hiring out your fast-growing skillset along the way.

The great thing about a skills focus is that no matter what happens you'll have value that you can offer people to quickly pick yourself back up if things go wrong. For example, I may be a slacker living it up in Southeast Asia, but I'm highly employable even in this economy and I prove that every time I pick up a new client.

Here is an outline that I can recommend for you to do:

1. Go to Clickbank.com and sign up as an affiliate. It is free to join. There are many other affiliate networks out there but it is advantageous to be sticking to one network first.
2. Select a product in the marketplace that you would be promoting. Select a product with at least 50% gravity. This would mean, it is being bought by people. Make sure that it is something that really solves a problem or something that is needed by people.
3. Grab your affiliate link by clicking on promote and fill in the needed information in the pop up window that appears.
4. Create a review of this product and post it in your own website or just use blogger.com for this and after reviewing the product, you would have to invite your prospect readers to the vendor's salespage using your affiliate link.
5. Refer a lot of people whom you know would be interested in the product or service you are offering through the social networks such as facebook and twitter. Better yet, learn SEO and you can rely on search engine traffic to be going to your review site which could eventually give you sales commissions.

I'd like to respectfully suggest you look for a mentor. There are mentors in all niches, and some cover a number of niches. They charge fees for their coaching, of course, but what you pay is peanuts compared to what you could make by following their advice.
Please don't make the same mistake I did.
I struggled for years, convinced I could make it on my own, but I was wrong.
Finally, humbled and broke, I realized i wasn't going to get anywhere without a mentor --- someone to tell me what to do, and show me how to do it.
One of the first things he suggested was to spend some time on the Warrior Forum, and I'm so glad I took his advice because, as you have found, there are lots of experts here who freely and very generously share their awesome knowledge. Good luck in all your online ventures.

If I was to tell a newbie anything, it would be to learn to build mailing lists and buy mailing list...yea I know, everyone says not to buy lists, but that is only because they don't know how to monetize it and make it work. I break-even almost always with in 1 week and I've never lost money on a list.

When building lists you need to build at the lowest cost possible. This means as soon as someone signs up, you need to hit them with offers. This also primes the subscriber that they are going to get offers while on your list.

Reinvest / scale and test, track and tweak.

Do the above and you can have a 6 or even 7 figure income.

Any new marketer likes to feel the new money asap. So here's what i suggest

Create and sell services first, when its running good dont stop. Hire someone or get someone to manage it for you then go building sites. That's my simple road work too. when you got enough money to support your site then you are good to go!
