The best payout for hosting affiliates?

Good morning, Warriors. I am here today to ask everybody what the best hosting provider is, and who gives the best payouts for each affiliate commission?

Iv been a loyal customer with Host Gator for about 5 years now and I'm thinking its time I hang things up. The customer service has gotten ridiculous, and it seems like I'm getting screwed out of my payouts when I get a commission.

I'm only receiving I think $50 per affiliate sign up, and you must have 3 or so in order to be paid out. And its always the following month or month after.

Iv always trusted Host Gator though. I knew I would never have to worry about them shutting down and the live support is 24/7. Iv been paying $9/month for unlimited bandwidth and domains.

Is there any other hosting out there that is cheaper or running on any specials BUT is just as reliable if not more than Host Gator? With higher affiliate payouts. A company who has been in business for years and has live support.

Thanks, guys.

Could look at Bluehost, they pay 60 dollars and have been around a long time.

I-page pays $150 per sale. But they have a few requirements. The pay is good so I guess it worth checking

Have you used Ipage for hosting?

InMotion pays out $50 for 1-2 commissions and $100 for every one after that. A lot better than HostGator is offering.

Bluehost though, you have to have at least $100 threshold and they have to be a member for 90 days?

I'm going to talk to a few different ones now.

    Check them out.

So far the "Ipage" hosting is the cheapest and highest paid. The offer $2.50 hosting/month, which is charged up front. 1 year is $30, 2 years, $54.

Iv read good reviews on them, but what's up with their cheap hosting costs? Someone said don't fall for their low cost jokes.

ipage, bluehost, hostgator are all eig brands. they are basically the same service now. the reason many here are seeing lower affiliate commissions is because eig only pays affiliates for "new customers". so when a customer moves from bluehost to hostgator via an affiliate link, the affiliate is not getting credit because they haven't brought eig a new customer...even though they were new to hostgator.

for some of my normal traffic sites i have an account at hostrocket and they have been solid for me for over a year now. they have a high paying affiliate program....although they look like a prime candidate for an eig takeover at some point...lol

Do you host with them as well?

I see they offer 1-10 referrals $75 each. And you only need 2 referrals to cash out.

Do they pay every month or is there a 3 month waiting period like host gator?

The cheap hosts are usually good at being cheap.

You'll end up running out of resources, either bandwidth or storage space, and have to upgrade fairly quickly.

Just starting out though it's probably safe. Never tried iPage so I can't say for sure, but other cheap hosting accounts have gone the same way.

They get you into the cheaper account, which is usually sufficient to get you going, but once you start getting traffic you'll need to upgrade fairly quickly.

Check the reviews for them. As long as you don't read crap like poor uptime, poor customer service, or bad network latency then it should be a good deal.

i do have some sites at hostrocket, although i use it mostly for a development server before i move higher traffic sites to other hosts...usually knownhost. cheapish chared hosting is what it is. its not for high traffic sites....i dont care what the name of the company selling the shared hosting is.

you need to get with them on when you will get payouts. there are all sorts of risk factors that go into how fast these companies payout.

btw, as far as the eig and new customers situation. most of the low lvl support folks deny it. but as some of you know, i have a lot of connections at HG. i have also run some tests and from everything i can see it is the case. when i challenged them on some payouts they basically said i was mistaken. but the test clients were all from different connections, names, cc info.....part of a group of people i was coaching. i would accept a couple, but in my test the eig crossover affect was nearly 100%.

So if you were me, what would you do in this case:

      * If you're sites are mainly all blogs (2-4 sites total)
      * You have a handful of clients who need hosting (For their first-time website startup)
      * Currently with host gator paying $10/month

I want the best payout ratio but I want my support and hosting to be reliable.

Or what about re sellers? Have the clients sign up under your resellers account and bill them $9/month for hosting via paypal subscription?

Or $25/month for hosting and maintenance. Just not positive if any of them would want the maintenance part compared to just getting hosting and start rolling.

its really more of a traffic thing. when you say blogs, i assume you mean wp? thats hard on servers. shared servers max out relatively quickly with wp blogs. you see people here complain about that all the time.

i dont run much traffic through my hostrocket account, but i do check it via uptimerobot.com along with all my other servers. i show 99.97 uptime for the last year with decent speeds on the ping requests. its not as fast as my knownhost or togglebox (unmanaged) accounts, but it much much much cheaper.

i am on the $15 hostrocket ssd account. although ssd is usually not the real bottleneck for a server anyway....but it doesnt hurt and its usually more reliable.

Should I just stay with HG then and continue to collect commissions? Even though I'm only getting about $50/sign up.

And do you believe its better to just snag commissions rather than charging clients to host under your re sellers? That way you have less headache to deal with?

And what's this I see people are talking about commission junction? Going through there instead of the hosting company?

i left hostgator for various reasons. if you are happy with them its up to you. i would honestly say that between hosts like hostrocket and hostgator there probably isnt much difference. i am not a fan of the EIG brands and made the decision i dont want to support them.

as far as being a reseller vs one time affiliate commissions. again, thats just how much you want to put up with and deal with customers. i would never want to deal with support and all that stuff. but many others do.

I also think that bluehost is the best for affiliate commission ($60 per affiliate). And they also provide a great live chat service.

Ok here is a list from highest to lowest
    1. IPAGE ($105) This is such a good deal! You receive $105 per sale w hen the hosting itself is only $2 per month, and can be cut down to $1 with coupons. It also offers lots of great free products such as a free domain, free advertising (worth $150 all together), and other great freebies. It certainly is one of the best web hosting affiliate programs. One thing to note is that there are some bad reviews of iPage around the web and there are some complaints about its quality.
    2. FATCOW ($100)Fatcow is another high payout web hosting company. It has a slightly better reputation and quality then iPage, though it is more expensive and offers slightly lower payouts.
3.BLUEHOST ($65)Even though the payouts are lower, Bluehost has a better reputation and people are more likely to buy it. It also has a better quality and better servers, and the website is more visually appealing.
    4. HOSTGATOR($50-125)
    Hostgator Affiliate Program
Who doesn’t want an extra $2625 per month? Hostgator’s affiliate program can be pretty lucrative.
Wow – why $50-125? Because the more sales you make, the more money you get paid per sale. At $125, that’s more than all the other affiliate programs, and if you have many sites or great methods to achieve 21 sales per month, you could $2625 that month!
    5.HOSTMONSTER ($65)Sister company of Bluehost.
Note: iPage, Fatcow, Bluehost, Hostmonster, and Hostgator are all owned by EIG (Endurance International Group), and they own many of the biggest web hosting companies in the world. EIG brands offer the best web hosting affiliate programs, though they have a history of not paying out some of their affiliates’ money. Use at your own risk! Other EIG brands include Justhost, IXwebhosting, Startlogic, and Domain.com.
6.DREAMHOST ($97)$97? Sweet! Dreamhost is our first non-EIG owned company in our list. One of my favorite parts about the Dreamhost affiliate program is that it allows you to create your own coupon code, which you can offer discounts and give away free domains/free IPs. The only drawback is that whatever discount and whatever free domains you give away, you lose some of your $97. For example, if I created a coupon code that gave you a $25 off and 1 free domain (valued $15), I would only receive $97 – $25 – $15 = $57 for that sale.
7.INMOTION HOSTING ($50-100 + $5-25 BONUS)As long as you make more than 3 sales per month, you will receive $100 per sale. The bonus is for completing extra requirements.
    8. SITEGROUND ($50-125)As one of the highest quality web hosting companies out there, Siteground deserves a place in the best web hosting affiliate programs list. It’s payout structure is same as that of Hostgator, for some reason.
9.WEBHOSTINGPAD ($75)Mediocre hosting companies, OK payouts. One thing to note, prices are extremely low and visitors will have a higher chance of buying.

You will need to choose the one that is best for you.

My mentor got paid $130 for each referral to Host9. I think it was a deal he worked out because of the amount and quality of traffic he sent to them.

He's got a landing page that does $70k a month in profit promoting only Host9, ThemeForest, and 1 other product.

Something to think about, even though you're starting with $50 per sale.

I checked out FatCow's affiliate program, they offer $100 per commission for every person who signs up for their shared plane. I viewed their share plan and its only $49 for the year. That's the cheapest Iv seen with a higher payout.

They also have a plan for $9/year that doesn't come with all the features as the other plans and you get $25 commission for it.

Fatcow pays out between 30-45 days including the reviewing/approval process and there is no minimum amount of commissions that you need. You can have one and be paid.

The Inmotion was $80/year for their plan and you need a least 3 commissions to reach $100/ per sign up.

So I think FatCow is the best deal... What do you think?

It has been said before in earlier posts but maybe you did not catch it. FatCow is part of the EIG conglomerate. You say that you want to promote something reliable. I would never promote any one of the EIG owned sites and I am not alone.

Oh ok I get it now. So DreamHost is NON EIG. They offer nice commissions too. $97 for every plan signed up annually and $30 for the month to months.

I think we found our winner. I'm going to give them a shot. They pay out at the end of every month too.

Sometimes this forum still amazes me. People complain about these companies in one thread, then recommend them in another.

@OP - the best thing you could do for those people you're referring is refer them to a company you actually use & are happy with the service & support.

Iv used Host Gator for 5 years now, but it seems like they're customer service has gone down hill. I had an affiliate commission from October in my account and they don't allow the commission sitting in there for 180 days or it becomes a forfeit. So I got another commission that would able me to cash the two in and they tell me sorry its past due and its been voided. Now I'm out of a referral. You would think they could at least make it a courtesy or something.

But $50 per commission doesn't seem... IDK.. Fair?

        Or does it?...

The only positive side of HG's affiliate program is if I have new clients who have never ran a website before, purchasing a full year of hosting up front seems to startle them. So if they see that they can purchase the hosting monthly or every 6 months, they feel safe. Iv always had success in the past signing people up under my name on HG but it takes for ever to get paid it seems.

So basically, they scam you out of getting paid for referring them business because it's not "enough" business. That right there, should be enough deterrent for many. To circumvent that, most people say "promote them through commission junction" - and continue to promote the same exact company directly ripping them off.

Unfortunately, that's been happening for years.

I would still suggest promoting another host that you actually use. The market is shifting, and many smaller companies are providing much more personable & better quality service. You still need to research the company though, as always.

Well i think you are only thinking to max out your comissions and are not thinking in your clients.... If i were you i would check for a good host with a very good uptime like 99.9% and with a superb support. I have suggested hostwinds because they have both, an awesome service like fast servers, great uptime and a support service that nobody so far in their price range can do it. normally they reply to a ticket in 2-3 minutes and solve your problem in a couple of minutes later.

Hostgator and Many providers will not bring you this. Their aff. Comissions start at $65.00 per client up to $135.00 and also offer you hosting for your affiliate ventures.

But sure you have higher payouts with lower quality in some services that you have refered.

But sure you have higher payouts with lower quality in some services that you have refered.

Would you suggest "DreamHost" ? They are not an EIG company.

I heard good things about them, but the only thing I dislike is that they don't have a phone number anywhere or live chat. You have to go through a support system in your panel.

Many companies don't. In most cases, phone & live chat are merely glorified receptionists that half the time for any tech related issue will make you submit a ticket. There are a few that are an exception though.

What is it that you're trying to gain? Referring to good quality service with affiliate pay as a bonus OR solely high affiliate payments?

There are quite a few reputable hosting companies paying more than $50-$65/sale and you don't have to refer multiple accounts per month to get those higher rates.

Well I want the best quality hosting because I am going to be referring lots of local clients and friends who are interested in starting their own blogs/sites. I want to refer them to a LEGIT host, but I also want to earn some affiliate commission with this... I have 5 or so people who are looking to sign up right away.

Sure, understood. I think the best thing to do though would be to use the service first before recommending it. Of course, not all would do that, but at least you know first hand the service you're referring.

I feel you. Iv been using Host Gator for 5 years, never really had BAD experiences besides recently they are hard to get help from. Iv referred almost 50 people to them over the past 5 years just from friends and people who wanted to blog.

The payouts are OK..... but it takes like 3 months to get the money. And I never understood what the EIG stuff was about until just a couple days ago.

That is the only host who I have actually used.

I see. The delayed commissions are fairly standard due to the high amount of fraudulent signups in the industry. That said, if you refer the customer, you should be paid, not get random excuses on why it's not valid or be ignored completely/have it made invalid without an explanation.

Well I don't work with dreamhost but if they don´t have a decent support system then probably it will take awhile to get help.

You need to put yourself in the position of your client when he has problems.

Well I have tried hesitator and blue host earlier before the EIG and their support sux big time tor my standards, waiting 24-48 hours to give me assistance its not my cup of tea.

When I have changed to host winds I got a much better support by chat or ticket super fast, when something is complex I have a Project manager allocated to my issue. But I am talking always about a very fast support , 2-3 minutes to reply and up to 10 to fix the problem, unless when is something extremely complex but even there in 1 or 2 hours the problem will be solved. Until now I had opened about 13-14 tickets and every time I got this kind of SLA.

Another thing that is good, its the client does not need to buy a full year, he can pay monthly, but your $65 are guaranteed!

                      I hope that helps.

I agree, they're becoming less and less reliable. So are other EIG companies, but these guys seem to be the best at being the worst..

I just started using dream host affiliate. Haven't used the host myself just yet but could see myself switching to the monthly plan.

What is the 50% for ?

I'm not sure about low cost hosting, because especially if you use WordPress as a cms, it's being found that low cost hosting is not entirely secure and sites are being hacked

Bluehost is a good choice for affiliates working in Web Hosting niche. One of the top earning blogger is an affiliate of Bluehost.

So you're saying to stick with Host Gator and just keep referring people there? I would even switch over hosting to somebody else if I know of a legit company. Host Gator was always good because of the live chat feature and affiliate support system has always responded in a quick matter of time.

But people have been telling me to stay away because of an EIG?

I am not saying stay with them. What I'm saying is to use another company that interests you. Compile a list of non-EIG companies, then contact them, ask questions about their service to see how they respond. Ask questions about their affiliate programs etc as well.

This is a good strategy, especially if they have a money back guarantee. You can try a few at once to see which one best fits your customers' needs.

See I like InMotion too. The sales system is fast and its pretty affordable. The only bad thing is, they don't offer month-to-month hosting. You have to purchase at least a years worth which is $107. Some of my clients may turn away if they have to pay $107 right away. And they can actually get a promo from inmotion for $60/year but then I won't get any commission from it because it has to be a minimum of $74.
