Legit Bulk Email Companies?

Are there any legit bulk email companies? I've used a couple that claim to send out your email to "millions" of customers, but the results don't seem to agree with this. Are they ALL scams? What's your opinion/experience?

When you see a claim of "sending to millions" - and that includes the "make millions fast" - "make thousands in a day"...etc.

...STOP...ask your self one simple question:

      "Does this make sense?"

For the question you ask here - does it make sense to you that MILLIONS of people have willingly shared their email addresses with a company so that anyone who wants to (or can rent the list or buy a much sold list) - can SEND them PROMOTIONS for any and all products under the sun?

Can you imagine any of your friends or family willing to sit at their computer reading one unsolicited sales letter emails after another...day after day....?

When you think it through - do you BELIEVE "millions of people" have nothing better to do than read sales emails for products they aren't interested in? If there are such people - how likely are they to be buyers?

There are respectable list companies - but they are usually targeted to business and industry and service sectors offline - can't be used for spam purposes - and are quite expensive to rent.

Yes, I think that they are all scams. But sometimes you get some clicks from them (but not what they promised). It all depends of what are you expecting from them.

Most of them are scams indeed. Paying $50 or so to send an email message to millions doesn't seem real, does it?

However, claiming that ALL of these services are scams is another story. Not very realistic.

For example, check InfoUSA, part of InfoGroup Inc (Nasdaq: IUSA)

I have purchased lists from them on behalf of my clients and they have been an excellent investment. Not inexpensive though. Most people would never consider spending what they charge.

Dun & Bradstreet are also excellent, but they charge $1.20 per address for those that have opted-in to receive 3rd party emails.

Unfortunately I've had no good fortune with bulk emailers, however ...

For certain offers / certain markets, EDDM would work great for a Zipcode such as La Jolla, CA (or similar San Diego beats) where Frank Kern, et al, reside. It is literally crawling with IMers on every corner, each with high ambitions and pedigrees ... if that's your market.
San Diego is a hotbed for IMers, Network Marketers, entrepreneurs - all kinds.
The area is a radioactive think-tank on steroids. Beam me up.

    And, postcards work great!

Nope, all junk. Big waste of money. First you need to relize that mass traffic is not neccessary. A small list of buyers will make you more money than a list of freebie seekers in the 1,000s. Learn how to drive quality traffic to your site or link and forget about mass traffic unless you have a hugh bank roll.

      Another 'expert' opinion. lol

Not everyone is out selling their 'Get Rich Quick' schemes. Some folks actually sell real products. I wonder how my clients keep making money from targeted email lists they have purchased. Oh, wait! I do know how that happens. They have me consulting and not you. If they had you running their email campaign they'd be out of business by now.

      Cheers. - Frank
