Adwards has developed a lot. I wonder how it is with Adsense. Is Adsense still effective?

    Yes it is.

However, Adsense doesn't appear to be the best source of income for a blog, and you don't wanna set it as your sole or primary source of income.

What I would recommend, is generate income using Adsense (remember to track the results if you plan on to sell the site later on), but you have a lot more monetization methods.

    See these posts on WF:

    Here, and Here

    Hope that helps :-)

Yes Adsense is still effective, but not like it use to be. I make about half compared to what I use to make just a couple of years ago.

      Hi there

Yes adsense is very affective especially if you are running a great informative website or blog. It is an absolute goldmine, but you need to know how to effectively use it. There are 3 ways to effectively monetize a Adsense site.

      1. Make sure your website is geared towards sales- Make sure your website talks about items which can be bought or sold. e.g information products, ebooks, electronics., etc.. you will struggle if you talk about trees, the sky , or the birds and bees

      2. Find the best keywords-Keyword research is essential if you want to get the most clicks. you have to use the keywords effectively on your site. The best tool to find the best keywords in your niche is the google keyword planner.

      3. Monitor your results- The key to success in adsense ads is tracking. You need to be able to effectively track your ads, because then you can see what is doing well and expand on that.

So you see, If you have a great informative web site with great content and the keywords are used well, google adsense can be a goldmine.

  • I have not used. I tried once and made $0.28..but that was years ago. But I see that many adsensers say that it's not like it used to be, earning s are less and guidelines are stricter every day. But still they make some cash, in some cases they still make a LOT, but only if they get millions of visitors per month.

It is the most effective means of that type of advertising that I know about. I tried to change to some other PPC companies and I made far less. Would love to know other ways if someone wants to provide them.

It is effective if you know what you are doing. You know what type of ads to place and where to place them. You know how to use the adsense site and change the look and feel of your ads. I just read a real good book on the subject by Joel Comm just go to amazon and do a search for his name you will find it there.

It's effective depending of the niche you are and if you have high paying keywords. For some sites CPA or affiliate is much more effective.

Yes it is. Adsense works 100% but you must be very careful with your traffic because they are very sensitive these days

I definitely agree on most points people have made. I think your niche does play a big part in how well you all do. For instance, I run a website on how to look after the Oscar Fish Cichlid. However, the website has lots of articles on basic fish keeping as well. Even though the Oscar Fish Cichlid is definitely a niche, I don't think you are going to find many, or probably any Google AdSense adverts that are directly related to this topic. From my experience, there are very few adverts that show what are my website that I really geared towards tropical fish keeping, and the ones that are don't pay very much. In my case, I probably make my money from the Google AdSense that showed adverts related to my users history of browsing.

On the other hand, if you ran a website that was dedicated to home improvements and had articles dedicated to this niche then I reckon you would do really well because there are lots of people out there running businesses related to home improvements and if you set your website up properly and it became popular, they would be queueing up to advertise.

I read lots of information where people suggest picking a niche if you want to make money. That's all very well, but you got know what you're talking about in order to make a website credible.. My website for instance, I've been keeping tropical fish for many years now so I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about and my articles related to this. But the benefit of hindsight, it's not the best niche for AdSense. Several months ago I was making nearly £700 a month, this month are probably clear just over £200. Sadly AdSense isn't what it used to be, I don't know why, it's just deteriorated so much in the last three or four months, it's frightening. So unless you can develop a really popular website with a ton of visitors each day, I wouldn't even bother with AdSense. Having said that, you could do quite well with less than 1000 visitors a day if you created a website with a particular niche that meant that all the Google AdSense related directly to your content.

I recently got a Adsense site that makes around $600 per month, and another site I've had for a month that makes between $450-500 a month.

So, Adsense is still very effective even with the rise of tools like Adblocker and what not.

But, always have at least one backup source of revenue, even two.

Also if you start using adsense now I would strongly recommend read their bible called TOS and always respect it. They are very strict with those that don't respect rules.

Make Adsense effective by using the keyword planning tool in Adwords to check advertising rates for specific keywords. Then produce content that ranks for those keywords.

I have two blogs currently running Adsense, and I'm making decent money. Made $50 today combined from both sites. So, yes, Adsense is still effective.

I only got into Adsense the past couple of months (been doing IM for the past few months), so I don't know how much better Adsense was back then, but I'm currently liking it.

However, I'm trying to expand and earn revenue in other ways. You don't want to rely on only one income stream.

Adsense is a good choice for starting webmasters. However, getting good money from adsense also requires knowledge and intensive testing with ad locations, ad sizes, etc. You also need specific content that will convert better for adsense if you do not want to end up with 1 cent clicks.

I think that your time can be better invested in learning how to build a list, sell a product, or affiliate marketing. Ad placement comes when nothing else is available.

It's not as effective as it used to be a few years ago, but yes, it's still an OK source to make some cash. And I'd add, I think the effectiveness depends a lot on your niche and, of course, on your traffic and how effectively you use it (if you only place one banner at the bottom of your page, no one will click it..)

Effective at giving you pennies. Better to become an affiliate of amazon. True, you get a tiny 4% commission. However, you might find it is more money. Please do test both and tell us which made most at the end of the year. OK so here is my guess. Like you are going to get find of sad sense. Most people prefer to use amazon.

I find it works as a secondary type of monetization. I would never rely on Adsense alone.

Adsense is great, but it takes a decent amount of traffic for it to pay some bills and A LOT of traffic for it to be life changing income.

And as others eluded to, it should not be your only source of income, but can be real good if you have the traffic and are in a decent niche.

Also keep in mind that, with the advent of retargeting, a lot of visitors will be getting followed around by other websites who sell stuff that they have previously visited.

Definitely great as one of several income streams for authority sites.

So in my personal experience, it's still very effective.

    Is Adsense as effective?

    As opposed to what?

Yes you can make a little money here and there but it isn't as effective as it used to be. Most people tend to have a natural ad block and ignore ads for some reason (especially marketers lol).

Then on top of that you have a growing number of Internet users who have 'extensions' and soft wares enabled on their computers when browsing.

Most people will not 'see' your adsense.

So yes you can make a little money here and there. If you require an income that is actually worth your hard earned efforts, you shouldn't rely on adsense. Just use them as a 'side' income.

Here is one warrior's adsense story:

345 clicks times a measly .25 cents per click equals $86.25 dollars a day.
Some new marketers reading this may think that this is Internet Marketing Heaven. This is a ridiculously low conversion rate. Not because of the warrior who is making the money but because of all the factors which go into place to make this income from adsense.

Here is a top blogger's (John Chow) opinion on why he doesn't run adsense on his blog:

So if you want run adsense on your blogs, don't rely on it as a primary income source (just like other posters said above).

Is there data shared anywhere that backs up your claim that "most people will not 'see' your adsense"?

I think that ad blocker stuff is a blown way out of proportion. But I don't have data either and don't care to look for it. lol

However, I will venture to say that it's the other way around - that most people CAN see your adsense.

It's not my only revenue stream nor is it the biggest, but it is making me multiple 5 figures per month.

So I can attest to its effectiveness.

With that said, it does take a lot of traffic as I mentioned previously.

Adsense is still effective. The point is that how effectively you can use it. There are plenty of bloggers out there who are making thousands or even millions from Adsense.

Adsense is crucial for beginners. Every click on your adsense and every dollar that you make will give you more motivation to improve your blog and write more and more. It is always good to have a little motivational factor when you are starting your blog. You should not solely depend upon adsense for revenue but a little side income from adsense does not hurt.

    Cheers.

I would say that you must have specified question. If you have strategy to work on any earning platform then you made it. I want to put quote here for you:

"Whether You think that you can or can not, You are Right"

So just look @ ways - strategies to work on. Some people earn with DATA ENTRY Types of work, some make video animation or yes, if you have skill according to google adsense like you can engage visitors, you can bring traffic to your site.

Now if you have targeted traffic, you can choose affiliate marketing and if you have random traffic then just go with google adsense. Best of Luck
