Landing Page VS Direct link ad

I am interested in making some money and paying for traffic. PPC.

2 ways I know are:

1. Make an advert via (for example) Bing. This seems SIMPLE enough.. research offer, kw, put the ad together.. monitor costs vs income.

OR: create a LANDING PAGE, which requires a domain to buy for each campaign! present the offer directly of use a lead magnet.. much more work.

Which method is better??

Cheers.

    Landing page by a mile.

Besides increased conversions (use the landing page as a presale. A way to get the prospect more interested) - It also allows you to optimize your targeting and your ad more efficiently. Sending people direct to the offer will get you sales occasionally, but with a well designed presale page, you'll be able to tell if your traffic is converting much more accurately.

If you want high quality sales (read: less refunds), use a landing page. You need to pre-sell your customers before you sell something to them. You can do that by either getting them to your list and sending them a couple of pre-sell messages, or using a well-designed landing page that let's them know exactly what they'll be buying.

Cold traffic does not convert well, and you don't want to worry about refunds later either.

Sending paid traffic to anything but a squeeze page is a mistake.

it all depends on different factors, your budget, your skills to write good ads, your skills to create and optimize a converting landing page, how well the offer or product is converting

now if it is a new product that has no data, you are going to need to funnel as much traffic as you can to the sales page, now depending on your niche 9/10 a landing page will perform best, however I mean a landing page that has no optin it is just a pre sell page to warm the visitor up so once they get to your sales page they are convinced what you have to offer is what they need

what i would do is research how your competition is marketing, if you don't see many squeeze pages then there is a good chance squeeze pages don't do well

when I buy search or display traffic I rarely send to a squeeze page, always to a pre sell page so I can test my numbers much quicker, getting them to optin sounds good in theory but if you are marketing in niches outside the IM niche I have had good results using a pre sell page, plus it allows you to build a list of buyers. and you could always re target anyone who does not buy to a lead magnet afterwards

Always send your visitors to a landing page first. Preferably, a Squeeze Page where you get their contact information first before sending them to the offer. This way, you stand a chance of making more sales by presenting them with more offers in the long run.

Moreover, it's been proven that 90% of visitors will not buy on their first visit. It is up to you to use your landing page to capture their emails, and then follow them up with email series to close in more sales in the long haul.

If you need high converting Landing Pages, let me know or PM me.

I will chime in and solidify what the others are saying and tell you that a Landing Page should be your priority.

At first, many years ago I was like you. My thought : Just send them directly to the Sales Page and start earning right off.

But I soon found out this is a short sighted approach and it was NOT building a long term business.

So you need to develop a List where you will have continual traffic at the push of an
    Autoresponder button

Thank you so much for all of the helpful replies. OK. landing page it is. I always went for .com domains. testing, say 5 or 10 ideas, can be a complete waste of $60 to $120 for the .com landing pages. .tv and .info are much cheaper.. but will this hurt me when placing my Bing ad that points to a non .com?? Hope i explained myself clearly. Cheers.
