Losing focus & could use advice

I recently joined this site and have gotten some great tips. It's also been information overload. Right now, my main pursuit is selling my self-authored ebooks (and a couple ebooks written by friends).

So far, I've done pretty well for a beginner, selling about 1 a day since I started 4 months ago. Considering my low level of traffic, I know there is real potential here (my traffic comes from article writing, and a bit organic).

However, I'm getting bit distracted by strategies that may not apply to me -- I'm a newb, so it's often hard to tell.

For example, I can't tell if I should be spinning my own articles (a concept I only learned about recently) and continuously uploading them...

...or should I be spending my days submitting my articles to social bookmarking sites?

...or should I be aggressively trying to promote my ebooks among potential Clickbank affiliates?

...etc.

I have a day job (that I'd like to quit eventually), so I'm at risk of burnout if I try to do too much. If you wanted to aggressively promote and sell your self-authored ebook, what would your strategy be?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Question, if you are selling one book a day writing articles, why don't you double your article writing and sell two a day?
If it is working for you that's when you ramp up your marketing. There is no need to go to other techniques justy yet, although you sure can if you want to. But first, make the most of what you are doing. There is a bit of debdate about article spinning. So check make sure you chack your stats if you do that. Stats don't lie. Are you with an article submission directory such as article marketer or unique article wizard? If not, I recommend that you join one of them.

Well, I write articles whenever I have the time. I typically submit to EZA, and then articlesbase and some others. Other times, I'll make a Squidoo or Hubpages, and I've experimented w/turning PowerPoint slides into videos. I have about 10 articles being distributed by isnare. Much of my traffic comes from ArticlesBase, ehow, Bukisa, and EZA.

I've tried PPC, and have a zero conversion rate w/PPC visitors.

I got to submit a guest article on a very popular blog w/my link, and I braced myself for sky-rocketing traffic, and to my surprise I barely got any from the post.

I've been there many times before, at the verge of exhaustion. But I have since learnt a couple of easier methods from other helpful Warriors. You can't try to do everything or you surely will burn out.

I would focus on creating products and marketing them. Instead of spinning your own articles, you can hire a good re-writer for about $0.20 per sentence. As for submissions, an article submitter software might be the solution for you.

One thing is to use Google Analytics and look at your Traffic Sources often. It will let you focus on what is actually working. For instance, one comment on howtodothings creates 25% of my traffic. I didn't really notice it till recently at which time I went and registered as an expert in my field which I was quickly accepted as.

One other thing to look at is Goals conversion and which traffic source the most conversions came from. Even bounce rate will tell you who is staying on your site and what source they are from.

I also like to see if there is patterns in certain cities and ask myself "why is tampa sending me the highest goals conversion? How can I take advantage?"

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

If your articles is already giving you sales, take note of the keyword phrase used in your
article and use them in your PPC campaign.

For long term profits, PPC is more predictable and provides a constant flow of
    targeted traffic.
