Whats involved in setting up a recurring revenue business model?

Hey,

I'm a copywriter but I'm extremely tech challenged. I have an idea for a recurring revenue product. It's a small scale and niche, but the basic idea is I'm going to charge a low monthly fee and send out 2-3 e-mails per week.

I'm assuming I'll use PayPal to charge customers and I'll need something like instabuilder or optimize press to launch the landing page. But what type of software do I need to keep track of my customers, send them e-mails and handle their billing?

I think that Paypal can handle your billing needs since there is no specificity as to the difference between charging and billing your clients.

You say you want to use optimizepress and what not for Landing page, but have you considered streamlining this with an autoresponder service which offers hosted landing pages like GetResponse. Your emails can be designed as well as your landing pages all with beautiful templates that are easy as pie to put together (drag and drop).

If you are setting up a subscription system or a content membership system, I suggest you select PayPal.

PayPal is pretty straightforward and simple.

PayPal can easily set you up with a subscribe button.

When people click that button and they pay with their PayPal account, PayPal charges them again once the month is over.

It is pretty straightforward and does not take any serious tech skills.

You only need to copy and paste the code into the right place in your HTML template.

If you need custom help, you can go on freelancer.com and get solid outsourced assistance.

I have ZERO experience building a website, but have an idea for a membership site. If I built a site using a Weebly template, would I be able to add a PayPal button to that to collect monthly subscription fees? Thanks

  I would use PayPal recurring payments, certainly the simplest solution, you could also set up a decent membership site using WordPress and free membership plugin - by using a modern theme you can make it look pretty decent - way better than 'Wix' or 'Weebly' - you have to pay those guys to attain a reasonable result, whereas with WordPress you own everything and you can manage and control your business.

Don't do that.

Take a little time and learn WordPress. It's really very easy and video tutorials abound.

It's important to set up your own domain and hosting.

Thanks for the advice, I suppose I'll take the time to look into WordPress. The drag-and-drop style of Weebly seemed much more straightforward to me -- but I suppose anything worthwhile is going to take time to learn ----- Or end up paying someone to do for me...which will be the more likely result.
