What are your thoughts of promoting your business by writing articles on wikipedia or press releases on prweb (Bear in mind your business provide very specific services) what will work best from your experience and why?

    I don't think you're going to have any luck advertising on Wikipedia. However you can certainly use some Barnacle SEO tactics by providing annotations pointing to content on your site on relevant Wikipedia pages.

    According to me Press Releases are still help companies to get more visible to the users and also
    SEO benefits.

    It helps to gain the trust from your customers, So, you need to keep buyers in mind while writing the press release. Fairly Inexpensive if you released it own. Any kinds of business can get the benefit.

    A good press release can spread wider and get you more customers to make you as an industry expert.

    Please tell me you're kidding. I used to be a Wikipedia editor and deleted stuff like this all the time. Wikipedia isn't a promotional or marketing tool for your business.

    Quite a few people underestimate the power of a well constructed and then well syndicated Press Release.

    If you release genuine news regularly and the syndicated Press Release is added to your own site as a post (even on a sub domain dedicated to 'news'), this will have a really powerful effect on your brand making you an authority and market leader.

    You can never tell who may pick up and run with your release if it is truly news worthy and strikes a chord with the reporter who takes it up.
