Help increasing Kindle Sales

Hey Warriors,

I've been doing kindle for 9 months now and my quality of books and writing has greatly improved over the last few months.

As it stands now I have 25 Kindle books for sale and last month I earned $60-70 dollars.

Here's my April 2015 dashboard sales:
View image: April Kindle Sales

Here are examples of my new and improved book titles (better writing, better covers, more positive reviews, better titles):
Arthritis: The Complete Arthritis Guide - Kindle edition by Rafael Marrero. Health, Fitness & Dieting Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.
Schizophrenia: Understanding Schizophrenia, Treating Schizophrenia and Recovery Guide - Kindle edition by Rafael Marrero. Health, Fitness & Dieting Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

And here is a list of all of my titles for your reference:

For my new and improved books I did create landing pages, but have not set up a PPC campaign just yet:
Schizophrenia - The complete recovery guide - Pudgey Publishing
Arthritis - The Complete Arthritis Guide - Pudgey Publishing

So there's all my stuff. I would love to get anyone feedback on how I could increase my sales for my Kindle books. I've read many Kindle books on Kindle marketing, I've bought Stefan's Kindle course, I just am not seeing the return a lot of guys are getting and I'm stumped!

If you're a Kindle publisher I'd love to chat.

Thank you so much in advance for looking at this thread!!

    Hi Rafael:

I have noticed that most of your books are $2.99 and that is to get the 70% commission.

Well, you do have "Anxiety Disorder" for 99 cents, but it is only a few pages.

OK so my rule of thumb is one penny per page. 99 cents = 99 pages.

Also, it has a large list of links. Please add more images.

Maybe add an info graphic to explain issues.

    NEED
    • more images
    • more body copy
    • more videos or mini movies

Ah yes, you can insert video into your book now.

Many of your books are on health related topics. The first thought that comes to mind is "is this guy a health professional trying to help or is he primarily a marketer trying to get rich off my pain?"

I'm not saying you are or aren't. I'm saying those initial thoughts count.

Also there aren't ANY legitimate anxiety books, for example, that are 18 pages long. I assume that 18 pages includes extra non content pages in the front and maybe back. Most of your books have small page counts from what I saw. So another first impression is "how in the world can this guy help me with my disabling anxiety I've suffered through for 15 years, on medication for 12 of those years, hospitalized once, and seeing a counselor weekly in 18 pages?" And that same type of question would be the same for many of your topics.

Not trying to offend and I hope you don't get offended just trying to possibly help.

    Mark

There are a few problems I can see:

      1. The niche is very small. You are not going to get heaps of people buying those sorts of books. You need to do better niche research. Even the top few books in your niche are lucky to have a sales rank lower than 100,000, meaning they get very few sales each day.

      2. Your books are too short. A minimum number of words I would suggest are 7000-12000 words per book. If you have more than 12000 words then you need to decide if you can break it up into two books or if it needs to be one book.

      3. Increase sales by doing package bundles. Throw some of your books together into a bundle of 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 books together and give a discount to buying all of them. For example if you are selling them all at $2.99 then sell 3 books for $7 as a bundle.

      4. You have hardly any reviews on your books. Have you tried a free promotion to get reviews.

      5. Are you promoting them on the right pages on facebook, are you tweeting out the links, are you promoting them on any sites ?

A few simple ideas which should help you get a few more sales.

I know you already did one course but consider checking into Rachel Rofe's info. on Kindle Publishing. She has tremendous success.

And yes too few pages would not interest me at all.

The sample pages I saw on the Schizophrenia book had bad formatting.

I'm downloading it to my Kindle for further reading.

But go with the advice people have left here.

    And I'm not judging either.

    Rafael,

This is going to sound weird but:

After someone buys your ebook, tell them about your affiliate program. This way, they can go and sell these ebooks for you for a commission.

Give them all the tools they will need to succeed. Banners, emails, etc.

Rafael, have you tried issuing press releases regarding your books?

Whenever you release a book, issue a press release.

Also, you might want to try Facebook groups that discuss the topics you cover in your books.

Another suggestion would be to look for specialized forums that focus on the subjects covered by your books.

Since all books involve credibility, it is really important to go to areas of the internet where people interested in

your subject matter are already talking.

By inserting your brand into the ongoing discussion, you can control the flow of the discussion.

In fact, you can even get people to identify your brand as an author with certain solutions.

Of course, neither of these are easy nor cheap.

Since time is money, these suggestions can be quite expensive.

    Why?

They require a lot of your time and a high attention to detail.

While you can outsource forum marketing and social media outreach, you have to give proper instructions to the people you outsource to.

Regardless, you need to get out there and participate in the ongoing online discussion regarding the subjects

    of your books.

Otherwise, you are going to continue getting the kind of results that you have been seeing.

Wow, thank you for all the good tips.

I totally agree with you guys on low page count, I've made a deal with myself to not release anything less than 8,000 words for my future books.

The press release idea is something I've thought about, but I will most certainly implement for all future books or free promotions.

Thank you guys so much for the feedback, I will implement these changes right away.
