How Many Hops Until You Drop The Product?

Hey everyone!

So I've been getting into promoting Clickbank products with PPC, and so far I've gotten 17 hops on this particular product (I send the PPC clicks to a capture page, and then once they enter their email they are sent to the offer page), and yet no order form impressions and obviously no sales.

I'm wondering what is a good number of hops to wait for until you drop the product (if you haven't gotten any sales).

I'm sure this depends on the niche, right now it's a weight loss product (I know, it's very competitive haha).

Just looking for some insight, if this is something that I should be paying attention to!

Thank you very much!

Aleast 100 even 200, but it depends on where you are sending the traffic from. If you are not sending targeted traffic, it could 1000 hops before you see a sale. The offer has do alot of the selling, so make sure it's a good converting offer.

I'm assuming you are sending targeted traffic, so give it atleast 50 hops. Even if your offer isn't converting, you should at the very least, be putting them into an email list, before you send them to the offer.

Don't forget to put them on your autoresponder, so you can sell to them later, if the offer isn't converting. Alot of people don't like to buy right away, sometimes they need a lil push.

        Good luck

When I was running facebook ads to clickbank offers a few years ago I went up to 200 hops max(only if the ads were good) and if it didn't have a minimum amount(I can't remember what it was) of order form impressions I would dump it. From memory, I was getting around a 1% conversion rate with my best campaigns.

Edit: Also, make sure you factor a 10% refund rate into your costing as a worst case scenario. Perhaps even higher if you're promoting non-english speaking offers.

Greatly depends on how much I am paying per hop...

The less money I am spending, the more I'm willing to collect data.

I'd probably drop a product after about 500 hops - but that's 500 hops that come from my email newsletter. So 500 brain-washed hops LOL.

I don't count "hops" that come immediately from a squeeze page, and then redirected to the offer. Basically i just take my time with the whole ordeal. Especially if it's a high priced product, cause i know imma make that money back real fast.

I suggest try at least 50 with that strategy since you were able to collect the emails... follow them up with related products.

The important thing here is that you can build your list with your existing campaign. If I were you, I just keep on funneling them and market to your list in the long run

Look at your "Earnings Per Hop". Are they lower or higher than your "Cost Per Click"? If your cost-per-click is higher then you're losing money. If your earnings per hop are higher, you're making money.

Earnings Per Hop > CPC = Making Money
CPC > Earnings Per Hop = Losing Money

This is assuming you're using 100% paid traffic.

Hope that came out right (it makes sense in my head, I'm bad with math LOL)

My suggestion is to send emails to those leads. There's a reason so many people recommend building a list.

An email lists gives you the ability to earn their trust, to establish a relationship that will lead to not just closing the sale, but also selling other products to the same leads, too.

This is especially true when selling Clickbank products which are notoriously difficult to sell if you don't forge a relationship with the leads. Why? Because everyone can set-up a sales page and say they're selling the greatest solution the leads are looking for. So naturally, there's a lot of resistance to buying them. After all, who is guaranteeing them that the product does work? Nobody.

You could make the case that they can make use the "no-questions-asked" 60-day refund guarantee from Clickbank, but nobody really knows about Clickbank outside this forum (and other places where IMers hang out.) So you're back to square one.

That's why Amazon products are so much easier to sell: everyone and their dog has heard about them and their stellar customer service.

Bottom line is that there is a huge trust gap when selling Clickbank products. Email marketing can fill in that gap. And quite nicely, too.
