Legal question relating to OFFLINE

For the last couple of weeks, I,ve been reading up more on offline and been out to businesses a few times (in a 110F heat).

Owners are mostly not in or are really busy or not interested. So now, I'm changing my approach.

Question: If I managed to find their email address, then copied a business from google maps as an example what that business had done to optimise themselves, is that ok to do as far as legalities goes?

It could be a sample from a restaurant that I am sending to a painter or also as a sample from a restaurant to a restaurant.

If I sent the google maps sample to their email, they could easily click the links and actually SEE what I am talking about.

Your thoughts?

    Hi,

If someone here does give you "free" legal advice. Don't follow it.

The fact is that you actually have not provided enough details to be sure whether it is legal or not or even whether it is a good idea or not. Is this solicited or unsolicited email, are you sending an actual map copy or just a link, is this one of your clients or not, do you have their approval or not, etc. etc. etc. Often the question is not even whether it is legal or not -- the question is whether there is a WAY to do it that will achieve your goals and still be legal.

Business has gotten too regulated to try to be in business without a good and experienced attorney who specializes in businesses similar to yours and an equally good insurance agent.

There are much better approaches to get offline clients.

Read the forum and you'll find a dozen proven ways people are getting clients.

No need to reinvent the wheel and do something that's possible illegal and probably not very effective.

    How inconsiderate of them!

I don't suppose you bothered to ask when a convenient time to call back would be?
Did you think about confirming that it was the owner you needed to speak to?

Just two small points to ponder.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!
