Your ideas on online arbitrage

Hello

I just saw an interesting documentary on business arbitrage and it got me thinking. Do lots of people on the WarriorForum do this?

Back when I just came into the online business world, I used to make some income with arbitrage.

I used to buy services from one source at a low price and sell at a higher price in another place.

For example I got 1000 facebook likes on fiverr for $5 and sold them on another forum (not WF) for $27. I gave out combo packs for bigger orders.

I actually made my first $100 pure profit day with hustling those facebook likes.

But later I found, that the likes kind of sucked and I killed the thread.

Haven't really touched forum arbitrage since then.

Do you think this is ethical?

In my opinion it is ethical, because I wasn't pushing a product or service to people that don't want it. I was actually giving buyers what they want. I was connecting the buyers and the service providers, who without me, would not have been connected. So both parties were happy.

Have you ever done anything like this?
Have you had success?

What are your ideas on this.

Thanks,

MeelisM

    Hi MeelisM,

I know some may argue but it's perfectly fine... This IS the FUTURES market... and the stock market in a sense.

Your basically a silent contractor who is the middleman providing a service to get the word out and further the advertising reach.

Take the grocery store Ralph's for examples (California based grocery store). They are the middleman between the farmer and the consumer... There's actually more middlemen in the Ralphs anology... (the farmer - the wholesaler, the grocery -> the customer) If the wholesaler and the grocery weren't in the mix, it wouldnt not be as convinient...

Imagine a person freelance graphic designer in the phillipines.. he may struggle getting exposure, advertising, getting his business and services out there but with the help with someone who already has funds to advertise and get the word out and actually sell and pitch the service, you're keeping him in business, he gets his cut, you get yourse.. and so forth..

I know some may think its unethical and some situations it may be but its done everyday in business all over the world.

    Hope that helps!

      Thanks JT

      Nice view on it.

Come to think of it yeah... The middleman business is everywhere. Even when buying anything from the grocery store there are so many middlemen. And If I want to buy a banana there would be no way for me to buy it without the work of middlemen.

I have done involved connecting people together. Call that arbitrage or middleman or networking or whatever you want. It works and you just need to learn how to leverage and you can make a lot of money.

I think this is perfectly fine and ethical. You might want to offer us your service on what you called forum arbitrage. How would you make this work on forums?

There's nothing wrong with arbitrage, and there are a lot of people who have that as their business model online in some form or other.

I think arbitrage is kind of around in every business in some form or another, it's part of the game. It's no different than clothing manufacturing in other areas of the world for dirt cheap prices and then slapping an expensive label on and charging a premium for it.
