Where to find inventors and creators with ready to sell products?

I'm having some issues with finding inventors and creators for an online marketplace I just launched today. It's US based so I'm looking for people with products from the US. Please do you guys have any suggestions about where I can find them?

My goal is to make my marketplace the destination for designers, brands and innovators to launch and sell their products.

Pm with suggestions or let me know if you know someone that created handmade products or tech/gadgets.

I assume you are looking for something similar to kickstarter.com

So you're thinking I should contact people from kickstarter. I can reach out to them without seeming like I'm a spammer but how?

I am not sure what you are actually interested in.

    1. Are you preparing a platform similar to kickstarter like competing them?

    2. You have created a marketplace where sellers and buyers can do transactions safely?

These are actually, two different and unrelated business models.

In both cases, I don't think you should contact sellers directly instead you need a rigorous marketing plan so as to attract sellers. A good starting point would be to find your competitor(s) and see what they are doing and how they are doing it. Benchmarking happens to be a relevant starting point.

Have you considered running an ad campaign? It's a great way to target the people you're looking for!

I think you should Advertise your business, if its corporate and you have big budget then do adwords. Bing is good for small budgets and its converting good at the moment.

    Thank You

I'd agree you need to run an advertisement (marketing) campaign at a medium (to large) scale to attract sellers. Now the question is where you can find them?

Frankly speaking, this is not easy to figure out where you will find all the sellers that are from US and they have an innovative product and they are happy to sell it via your platform. There is no single best place and there is no as such, place where you can find all of them together.

If I know where I can find all such people, I'd be the first one to create such a platform

So the idea is, you need to find and benchmark your competitors. Of course you have to run an advertising campaign, and to be successful with any advertising campaign, you need to do 4 things: test, test, test and test.

Testing gets a lot easy if you know what your competitors are doing and how they are doing it. Competitor spying happens to be the best alternate to R&D, which happens to be the most expensive part of the game.
