Learning from failure

I've been sitting on an idea for a long time but haven't taken any real action for the typical reasons (self doubt, confusion, etc.) but mostly because I didn't have the money to hire a developer to make it happen and it was too complicated to learn the coding on my own.

I knew it's only a matter of time before someone else does it, and now... Someone else is doing it. I'm devastated but it's also kind of inspiring, I never should've let anything hold me back in the first place. I'm good at recognizing trends before they emerge and I knew this would catch on, it might be harder to compete now but I still want to try.

So just a message to anyone who has a great idea but is stuck hesitating and procrastinating, put aside your doubts and just DO IT, make something happen... Believe in yourself enough to at least make an effort, I've realized real failure is not trying at all.

    I feel and hear you.

There's a bit of a learning curve and we should be prepared for it. However, trust me when I say that as soon as we get the hang of this whole things, then everything will be a lot easier.

Don't let your fears stand in the way of your dreams.

The various mind states we go through in the course of a day like today, are something for sure.

From one end of the spectrum to the other. From hopelessness to a clear minded questioning of what is going on.

    Thank you magiclouie

Yes this is a wake up call, life really is too short to just sit back and watch the things we want pass us by...

What has you feeling stuck? What niche are you in? Everyone's circumstances are different and I'm not a guru, but I think if you're confident in your original idea there's usually a way to keep moving forward..

Just because someone is already implementing your idea doesn't mean they're doing it RIGHT.

    You still have time.

Raise money or fund your dream project yourself.

    Pour everything into it.

If your version is driven by passion, chances are it will be a BETTER implementation of the idea you have.

    I remember a quote a while back that say's...

"Your Best Teacher Is Your Last Mistake"

Just because you failed, doesn't mean you're a failure. I think at one stage or another we are all guilty of sitting back and just observing. Everything you do is a learning process, whether it be positive or negative, you can only get better from the experiences you challenge.

You owe it to yourself to make a start. Even if an idea's been taken away from you, doesn't mean that you can't make it work for you. Start moving forward, focus on branding and authority and eventually you'll see a bigger vision.
