
A Technique I Use to Immediately Recoup PPC Losses

Many of you are familiar with how landing pages work. Basically, you setup your email opt-in form in order to build your email list. From here, there are two routes you can take:
- Paid Traffic
- Organic Traffic
Unfortunately, a lot of people see PPC campaigns as a losing bet. 99% of people never get back what they invest. BUT....there's a super-easy strategy that you can implement to IMMEDIATELY recoup your PPC losses- and it involves your "Thank You" page.
If you're NOT sending your lead directly to the affiliate's website after they enter their email address, then you're PROBABLY LOSING MONEY (if you're paying for traffic). If you setup a regular "Thank You" page that consists of something like "Thank You For Signing Up. Please Check Your Email For X-Product", then you are wasting a VALUABLE chance to make extra money from your list.
Think about it like this: the average conversion rate for a sales page with "cold" targeted traffic is about 1% to 2%. This means that you can expect to make 1 or 2 sales for every 100 visitors. But what happens to the other 98 visitors?????? Gone forever. Wouldn't it be better to at least "salvage" a few of the visitors who didn't buy by getting them on an email list and converting them later?
The "Thank You" page principle in this case relies on the same fundamentals (except reversed): Not only are you collecting emails at a rate of 40% or so, but you're ALSO getting 1 or 2 sales for each visitor. Now, you might be thinking: how exactly does this help recoup PPC losses?
The Math Laid Out
Let's assume that your cost per visitor is $0.50, and that the affiliate's product is worth $25. For every 100 visitors, you can expect to pay $50 in advertising (based on the $0.50 per click assumption) AND earn $50 in commissions (assuming that you sell 2 of the affiliate's products at a conversion rate of 2%). In this case, you're just breaking even...WHICH IS GREAT BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T LOST A DIME IN PPC COSTS.
And although you're breaking even NOW, you're going to be making money LATER from the subscribers who are making their way onto your list (at a rate of 30-50 for every 100 visitors). You're essentially getting FREE traffic for your landing page by replacing your normal Thank You page with an affiliate's sales page.
Don't let the math scare you. In fact, you don't even need to go through the trouble of trying to calculate it yourself. Just know that your'e leaving GOOD money on the table if you're not implementing this principle.

I think that one of the reason why people aren't earning the thousands of dollars they strive for monthly is because they're simply not being aggressive with their winning campaigns. What if every time you put $20 in an ATM, you received $25 back (ignore the legalities of this for a moment)? What would you do? Obviously you would KEEP putting money into the ATM.
The same principle holds true with your email marketing campaign. Even if you're only earning 5% for every dollar you invest, that's GOOD ENOUGH TO PUSH AGGRESSIVELY. And 5% is actually pretty low (I've taught my 14 year old sister, father, mother, and girlfriend how to create email marketing campaigns that earn them 20%, 40%, and even 60% on the dollar).
