Best ways to build your list?

here I am again with another question, I wanted to know, besides creating a landing page and sending traffic to it and gain leads (subscribers), what else could i do to build my list? I also know that solo ads could be a great idea, but anything else you recommend?

I am assuming you are talking about promotional/marketing strategies rather than what can you actually offer once the user is on the page.

Have you established a presence for your business/product on social media? If you have an engaging fan page on Facebook for example, you could try send fans from your fan page to the page which has a high potential to convert if rapport has already been created beforehand.

      Sure thing,

You Tube videos with a link taking them back to your site 'can' work wonders. The key to video traffic is to give value in the video.

Use your forum signature here in the WF if your niche is about making money etc..

Bing PPC. It's by far the easiest to start with.

Both of these are right on!

Aside from that I like selling products and building a list that way...

As the quality is some of the best.

Clickonomy is awesome... I would say, the most targeted and efficient way to build your list, is Solo Ads. Specially if your products (or affiliate promotions) are within the IM niche.

Then, if you know what you're doing.... Facebook retargeting is a very effective way to build your list... on any niche.

There are seriously a million ways to build a list... And there is no 'best' way to do it.

it all comes down to what method makes the most sense for your business model and what you're trying to do.

You can build a huge list with FB ads, Google adwords, Bing, Media buying, banners on popular websites in your niche, you can do guest/paid posts on popular blogs, solo ads, direct mail, postcards,
youtube ads, youtube content, SEO, article marketing, Joint ventures with other people in your market, mobile, you can buy leads direct from lead gen companies, and that's just for starters.

so the real question is what makes the most sense for you and what you're trying to accomplish?

You can make millions of dollars with any one of those traffic channels I just mentioned.. so just pick 1 that interests you and go for it.

Yes, I agree... but, if you don't know what you are doing (you are a newbie) and just say "Let's try this" and go and invest in MEDIA BUYING or MOBILE traffic you are probably going to waste a bunch of money... and not get the targeted results you get with proven Solo Ads providers.

That's my angle... but hey, I have been wrong before

Yes. but the same can be said about anything.

If you're a newbie and don't know what you're doing... you are going to lose money at whatever you do when you start out, such is life.

First time you play baseball, you're going to strike out. First time you go snowboarding, you're going to crash... alot lol

And your first few campaigns are going to suck.. get over it. There's a learning curve in EVERYTHING you do.

Even with solo ads.. most people who do solo ads lose money.

Even if they find a vendor who has good traffic that would be interested in their offer.. Most people's offer sucks, funnel sucks, and they aren't tracking/testing properly.. so they don't know what's working and what isn't lol.

My original statement still stands though. It all comes down to what his goal is and what he's trying to accomplish.

If he's just looking for an easy way to get started, make a few bucks, and has a smaller budget.. then definitely.. something like solo ads might be a better fit for him. Great thing about solo ads is that you can start small, and there's less moving parts so can be a great place for newbs to start off with.

But ihe has a bigger budget, is serious about his business, and is looking for something that he can scale huge.. then there's no shame in jumping in head first into something like media buying.

Sure, it has a bigger learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of it.. you can scale your campaigns FAST and can get insane traffic that all the solo ad guys only dream of.

I've had a few clients in the past that I helped get started with media buying. And in first year they were doing 7 figures+..

But again, with that route you got to go big, it's not for the weak at heart. and it's definitely not for everyone lol

In my opinion the best way to build a list is to first experiment with severs possible traffic sources.

If you're on a budget and can't afford to spend money testing then solo ads are the way to go.

Just a very low quality way to build a List, imo !

      I know others may disagree.

But think about the process of doing it.

"Whoring" out your List and email addresses to sharks is not a good way to do business

      Just my 2 cents

    I have a couple questions

    1. How do you create a thread ? Its so freaking confusing and

    2. There are sooooo many different names. Is an opt-in page the same as a capture page ? i always here about, landing pages, opt-in pages, & capture pages, and it gets a bit confusing.

You left out 'squeeze page' . Landing page, opt in page, capture page, squeeze page. Confusion is just a natural part of learning anything new.

I am finding that offering a free course is more effective than just a report or ebook.

It does take more work to create and setup but has a higher perceived value - see my signature and website to check it out.

Oh yes its a new site, with so many amazing features. When it get many members, its going to be super hot. All you have to do is upload your free product, explaining your product/services. This is because people will want to understand and test before they buy. So this free product you create gives you an opportunity to create awareness of your brand.

Its still okay because you can still use the same site for email marketing to your list members. At the moment, you could also export your list upon negotiation. we are also considering allowing just premium members to export their list in future.

For long term, you can create a blog, post videos, syndicate articles and do guest blogging etc. My advice is stick with one method at one time. So you can take your 100% attention, learn new things faster and do your parts correctly.

  • Traffic is traffic.

It doesn't matter whether it is for building a list or getting people to your website. It is all about properly getting the traffic you want.

I recommend investing in a good squeeze page, ranking it for serious traffic, and then making sure that you always use other traffic sources to get more people going to your site.

It also depends on your niche.

Hmm, I'm not a fan of solo ads. My recommendations are:

Co-Registration, Facebook Ads, Google PPC, Udemy, Offline Marketing. Sort of in that order, but not entirely.

There are a TON of money and hope wasters. Beware the hyperbole. Only a few really solid methods that consistently work.

Agree with John. Co-registration really is the fastest way to build an email list, also because it is done on a cost per lead/subscriber basis. Where as other methods like FB or Google adwords you can blow out your budget without any real results.

I have used this group before: Effective Online Coreg however they are only a broker and not the source of the data. I found this affective though because they where able to source me the best leads from a variety of providers. I think they get paid commission, like most brokers.

Also eBook giveaway offers have been our best list builders. And they build quite a specific niche audience too!
