I Need Some Guidence and Direction! Please!

Hey,

I seem to be thread happy today but i have alot of my mind and watched a kind of inspiring movie (The answer man).

Which made me think and come to realize that the only people i seem to network with from the warrior forum are un-succesfull newbies who i help over and over again, everyday and am their 'man to go to' if they have a question or query!

Okay its not all as bad as i make it sound but i must have helped a large handfull of people from this forum (and others) in my time, yet i don't seem t ever be able to talk to and bounce ideas off anyone either more sucessful than me or just as succesful.

Now to be honest with you im not that succesfull! At least not in my mind!

You see my online earnings go from $0 a day to $1000 a day depending on how everything is going. However im averaging around $50 to $200 a day now.

I know what my problem is and its simply that i don't like working... it doesn't give me that good feeling inside especially when after promoting a product really hard and putting alot of time into it you realize its actually a big scam and is stealing peoples hard earned cash, making you want to promote it less and less yet the money is good.

*breaths deeply*

Anyway.... the point of this thread is really because i want to start networking with all of you! Not just the new people who don't have a clue about anything and need some guidence here and there but also from the people that are getting somewhere or have already got there.

You all must have people from the forum that you talk to on a regular basis and chit chat too and then talk about business and help each other if you can etc etc etc, thats what i want too!

You see tis thread is getting kinda long now and that's my problem... maybe i need some help... serious help! I just love helping people over earning money myself.

Take for example a guy i know very well from here, i have helped, guided and taken him literally by the hand these past few months and now he is earning the same as me! He's only been doing this around 6 months and only started working on all this for around 4 yet hes at the same earning level as me. Its horrible!

I have all the knowledge needed and more to suceed with all of this. I teach people what to do for goodness sake and i have made tonnes of money in all aspects of IM from youtube marketing, ppc, ppv, bum marketing, forum marketing ive even run my own MMORPG's, forums, banner exchanges and made alot of money. Yet i moved to this whole promoting cpa offers and other peoples products looking to make more cash and try something new. You could ask me anything and i could give you advice on it! Seriously ive done it all!

So yeah i suppose the start of this thread is very different from the end but i really just wanted to get all that out in the open and ask for your help! I need some direction!

Hopefully i wont regret making this thread later and im tempted just to go back and delete it all! But i wont!

Anyhow thanks in advance everyone

    Hey Tom,

If you don't like working it means you are doing the wrong thing. You should LOVE working and look forward to it.

Maybe you should switch what you are doing and see if you can make money helping people, since you seem to like that and be good at it.

    What do you think?

I did love working. Plus i still do!

It's just i work the minimal amount of time i can and then stop and think oh the rest can be done tommorow!

I am thinking of opening up a membership site to help people suceed online however i can't decide on making it paid at around $47 a month or a one time payment of around $37 and then that's it.

Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages and the cheaper one time payment would have to be made up in affiliates sales through the products i reccomend to everyone.

Thjat is what i would love to do but still i need to earn money from other sources and in bigger amounts than i currently am too.

You know what, Tom, there's a few things about this post of years which are very unattractive.

Let me go through the ones which stand out to me.

Which made me think and come to realize that the only people i seem to network with from the warrior forum are un-succesfull newbies who i help over and over again, everyday and am their 'man to go to' if they have a question or query!
This should make you happy as these guys may just end up remembering you if/when they make it big.

I know what my problem is and its simply that i don't like working... it doesn't give me that good feeling inside especially when after promoting a product really hard and putting alot of time into it you realize its actually a big scam and is stealing peoples hard earned cash, making you want to promote it less and less yet the money is good.
If this is the case, why aren't you researching the products before promoting them?

Why would you sell something you know nothing about?

You don't always have to use everything, but at least find out what others think about it.

You all must have people from the forum that you talk to on a regular basis and chit chat too and then talk about business and help each other if you can etc etc etc, thats what i want too!
That's exactly what people are doing right HERE.

This is a forum and a lot of people are making good use of it.

I just love helping people over earning money myself.
If that's true why are you moaning about it?

Take for example a guy i know very well from here, i have helped, guided and taken him literally by the hand these past few months and now he is earning the same as me! He's only been doing this around 6 months and only started working on all this for around 4 yet hes at the same earning level as me. Its horrible!
    It's horrible?

Man, that is some serious envy.

I've helped people out here who are already earning a lot more than I am... so what?

I have all the knowledge needed and more to suceed with all of this. I teach people what to do for goodness sake and i have made tonnes of money in all aspects of IM from youtube marketing, ppc, ppv, bum marketing, forum marketing ive even run my own MMORPG's, forums, banner exchanges and made alot of money. Yet i moved to this whole promoting cpa offers and other peoples products looking to make more cash and try something new. You could ask me anything and i could give you advice on it! Seriously ive done it all!
So your problem really is that your lazy?

    Whose fault is that?

Take some action and make yourself accountable...

And get off your arse and do some work.

    Oh, btw, hope that helps.

Beleive me it does but its not me who seems to be making it big in my head. Im making more than most people and most people i know but still its not enough and i never seem to have cash on hand when i need it! Maybe im just slightly greedy then :S

If this is the case, why aren't you researching the products before promoting them?

Why would you sell something you know nothing about?

You don't always have to use everything, but at least find out what others think about it.

I am but i always get in early on any products and its only after about 2 weeks of the product being out there and my marketing efforts being in full swing that the scam reports are coming back! Plus i do research it heavily but there was no scam reports at all about this product until more recently!

That's exactly what people are doing right HERE.

This is a forum and a lot of people are making good use of it.

Yes but the forum is so impersonal and there are alot of people here that try to keep up good apperances and the 'my know it all' kinda image to make more sales on their products, whereas im more than happy to admit when i need to know something or need help and am not ashamed or worried to admit that!

If that's true why are you moaning about it?

Because in my mind i don't make enough money to spend a large proportion of my time helping people for free.

      It's horrible?

Man, that is some serious envy.

I've helped people out here who are already earning a lot more than I am... so what?

It's not envy at all its simply a realization check and bringing me back down to earth that i need to get my ass into gear and do more with my time. Hence why its horrible!

So your problem really is that your lazy?

      Whose fault is that?

Take some action and make yourself accountable...

And get off your arse and do some work.

      Oh, btw, hope that helps.

Yes i am lazy! I know that but also the things i am doing now don't motivate me enough to make me want to continue.... a long time ago i learnt that money isnt everything and i actually stopped IM and stopped making money to live a more basic life and be happy. Now im turning more into the i need money to be happy kinda guy and its annoying!
Oh and yes thanks it did kinda help as does any input

    Hi Tom,

    That's a very thoughtful post.

I've told this before but maybe you haven't heard it.

I was a carpet cleaner for about 20 years. I probably cleaned more rooms of carpet than any other carpet cleaner in the world, ever. I really mean that. And I probably made less money than most carpet cleaners. Now, mind you, I'm not complaining, just stating the facts.

You see, one day when I was out looking for carpets to clean I ran across a delightful Inn Keeper by the name of Mr. Patel. Mr. Patel was so nice, he was the type of guy who you would like to work for. I charged $20 a room to clean carpets and Mr. Patel haggled me down to $10 a room. However he had 50 rooms at his motel instead of the usual 5 or 6 so quickly doing the math I realized with rooms right next to each other I could knock them out really fast and make up for the low price by cleaning more rooms. Not bad back in the 70s I worked for two days and made $500.

Then Mr. Patel introduced me to his friend Mr. Patel. Now, Mister Patel saw I was working for $10 a room so he considered it his God given duty to haggle me down to $9 a room, but, he had 100 rooms for me so I took the Job.

Cut to 10 Mr. Patels later and I'm working for $7 a room. Now, 7 must have been the magic number because 100 Mr. Patels later I was still working for $7 a room.

Now, up till now I haven't even gotten to the real point of this story sorry.

Cleaning 10 - 20 rooms a day gives one a chance to really get fast and good at carpet cleaning. I was the best and the fastest, I had to be to make any money at $7 a room.

One day a man approached me, he explained that he was on welfare and he had to get some training to get a job. He explained that there was a government agency that would pay me to teach him how to clean carpets. Long story short (too late) I trained this man to clean carpets and the Government paid me pretty good money to do so.

Now cut to a year later. I met the man and he was driving a new van and had new carpet cleaning equipment, both the van and the equipment were much better than mine.

We went for coffee and the subject turned to how much he was making. He was making about 4 times more than I was making and I felt both happy and sad at the same time. Happy that my student was doing well and sad that I wasn't doing as well as my student.

Now, before I could get a chance to revel in the fact that my excellent teaching had taught this man to fish rather than giving him a fish, the conversation continued.

I asked him how much he was charging and who he was working for. He told me he never took a job that didn't at least pay him a few hundred a night and his customers included, THE Brown Derby (the real one long since closed) and the Princess Louise (a cruise ship turned into a restaurant) and many other very well known Hotels and restaurants.

I exclaimed. You can't work for those companies, you have to start at the bottom and work up to those kind of high class accounts.

His words echo in my head to this day.

He said. "Oh, you didn't teach me that."

See, I didn't teach him that and so he didn't believe it. On the other hand My teacher taught me I had to work for $20 a room and I ended up working for $7 a room.

So why the long story. Because I like to tell long stories! And,

Because YOU with what you know and have already done and have proved it works by teaching others how, can now go as high as you believe you can.

Network, JV, Get mentors whatever but no matter what else you do you already have everything you need to MAKE IT BIG. You just have to believe you can do it. At least don't believe that you can't do it.

George i really do admire you and your long posts that seem to be storys that both i and im sure many other can reflect with greatly.

Your words have really really inspired me to work and get making those big bucks!

Yet then i get the whole 'questionable' mind state whereby i think of questions and over complicate things! So many times when my students come to me with similar questions that i go to others with i tell them to literally 'shut up and stop over complicating things'.

      Thank you George!

      Good story, George.

You are right, belief makes a lot of difference.

A few years ago I went back home after over 20 years in the UK.

My parents and my younger brother were already there and had been for about 5 years.

One day I decided I'd go out shopping, so my mum (mom - marm) and my brother told me I had to haggle for everything and NEVER pay full price.

I went out and bought some audio tapes (I said it was a few years ago).

I haggled the guy down to 30T from 35T as I bought a few, but it took some doing.

When I went home, I told my mum, and both she and my brother exclaimed, "You can't haggle on tapes!"

"Hold on," I said, "You told me I should haggle on EVERYTHING."

"But not on tapes!" They exclaimed, yet again.

"Well, I didn't know that," said I, "so I haggled and I got them for less."

Like you say, George, sometimes it's better not to know, for knowing can be a limitation on our ability to achieve something.

        Exactly!

All of your posts have made me realize this as well as me just writting it all down on the forum.

I really do think that me helping other people to earn money online with affiliate marketing and whatever else which in turn will cause me to earn money either from their donations, monthly fee and affiliate commissions from products i reccomend (or any variety of those plus more) will be my way forward and my 'calling' if you like.

Its something i enjoy and am obviously good at. I Just hope now when i do make my membership site that people enjoy it, learn from it and prosper as well as actually join to start with.

Took a look at all that when you last posted about it (i think it was you).

However i don't think i could put a price on my time per hour or even half hour. At least not until more people know me and can see how paying for my time can really improve their online businesses!

Tom if you are helping people and then saying that the products you promote are scams what are you teaching people? If you teach them how to avoid things which are scams, why not put that advice into practice.

It does sound like jealousy, because you think it is horrible someone is at the same level as you. Think about what you said for a moment, and then ask why anyone would want to brainstorm or help you if you are not going to be happy to help others. I know you said you are happy, but the truth is the people who have become successful with your help will read exactly what you said about them....... and you finish the rest off.

George you can do that with skype, you can get paid to answer questions and help people in skype as well.

Hey Tom, I've recorded a 2.5 second MP3 that you may want to download. You can keep it on your desktop, and every time you start feeling those old "doubt habits" (because habits is all they are), you can click on it and hear a friendly voice tell you "shut up and stop over complicating things."

I've even made you several different versions so you can enjoy some vocal variety. And it'd be my pleasure to send it to you - no charge - just tell me where.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,

I use to actually do alot more of this... take people on for a fixed fee per month and at the end of it a good chunk of them would have made back their investment and be making money consistently everyday!

      Thanks Bev!

I've even made you several different versions so you can enjoy some vocal variety. And it'd be my pleasure to send it to you - no charge - just tell me where.

Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand,

What about joining the "War Room" forum here! It is $39 for lifetime membership. From what I understand there are many of the successful IMers that will answer your questions and more. I can't post links yet but I think the link is on many pages throughout this site. The sales page gives lots of info.

      Hey tom,

First and foremost, breath! I think you need to sit back and regroup what's going on here. It's a wonderful thing helping young IM'ers come up through the ranks, and hopefully one day it will pay you back 10fold. But for now, I think you need to start a centralized hub. A foundation with your signature and bring it from the ground up. I don't think it will be too difficult for you to start a membership program. You can start with one-time payments for beta, then as you get members change it to monthly. Your affiliate army inside will do all the work for you. Think about Tom for a sec, that's all I'm saying.

Yeah you make a good point there!

I also prefer to provide value for money over charging just enough for what i offer, i.e. i like to over deliver on everything!

OMG! You must have pushed some wave links out there in space this morning.

I started an article (hoping to put it into an autoresponder series) that ended up talking about your sitiuation.

In the title, I started it out as "The "Big Build My Future" Mentality" but after the first paragraph it revloved into explanning exactly what you are talking about.

Now...I have to striaghten it out cuz it's really reads as two intirely different prospectives.

I write this with the utmost respect.

But you are knowledgeable in the field of backlinks and SEO. You even sell a product of your own regarding this exact topic. Yet, you are only making $50 on some days? Something is not right here. If your product is as good as you say it is, you should be dominating the search engines with multiple niches and multiple revenue streams. Honestly, for someone with your knowledge, it is not hard to pump out sites and rank very well. I think you are just being lazy. Do as you preach - especially if you want to teach people.

And, why would you teach people for FREE? Giving advice on this forum is fantastic, but you say you like teaching people yet you don't take advantage of that. Teach people and make money RIGHT NOW. You are experienced enough to know that sitting around and never taking action doesn't do a darn thing for you. Get to work.

Regarding scams, most of the crap that people promote is just that; crap. No offense. So forget about that Clickbank garbage and do what you love: CREATE YOUR OWN PRODUCT THAT IS NOT A SCAM AND TEACH PEOPLE.

If you get back on track, I would love to work with you on a new venture I'm soon going to launch. I could use some people with some SEO know-how.

      Good luck!
Thanks for the moral and confidence boost!

Maybe sometimes its fear holding me back. I do know how to do alot and am currently dominating alot of search results in my current niche but the niche is small and ive only chosen to dominate directly related searches (i.e. product name searches).

      Thanks again.
