How to promote a fashion blog

Hi guys,

I have a client whose a female who is starting a fashion blog similar to:

A DASH OF DETAILS / A LIFESTYLE AND FASHION BLOG / DALLAS

and

BLEUBIRD -

I'm thinking of ways to start promoting the blog and I'm hitting a wall. I'm guessing that both of these blogs started small time and became huge over time.

I'm really trying to think of a ground breaking way to promote this fashion blog and gain an exponentially increasing amount of traffic but I've never been in this niche before and looking for some advice.

    Find different sites, forums, groups, social media, etc. where people share an interest in fashion. Contribute to the communities and to the discussion and include a link when allowed and when appropriate. Maybe create a video about your blog and fashion and post to Youtube.


    Learn about SEO and SMM as well. Include keywords and keyword strings in your content too.

    For me the first thing that comes to mind is visual content: pinterest, instagram, facebook, twitter, maybe youtube. Fashion is very visual you have to focus on that.
    Just look at your example sites, both of them are active on Instagram and Pinterest.

    I would suggest to start a Social Media Campaign to increase its awareness and ask users for reviews for any improvements..PPC services will also be a good choice.

    Social media, just like promoting any other website! And if it's a fashion blog, even better, you can post pretty pictures of pretty clothes, you'll have lots of engagement on social media, IMO!

    You just need to do blog posting for that particular blog on daily basis because in this way you can get traffic on your blog. Try to write about latest news and fashion relevant celebrities and then go viral on social media sites with your post. Don't forget to do bookmarking because in this way you can get fast indexing.

    If you have new blog and want to promote quickly the start PPC [Adwords] for 2 to 3 months then side by side start SEO & SMM

    If you can do this the sure you got good results

      This is the one thing I really wouldn't suggest. Promoting a fashion blog with Adwords would be a waste of money. Paid ads could give a boost, but still focused on social media, like growing a fanbase on Facebook with Facebook Ads.

    Thanks guys! This is all really good info.

    In terms of a social media campaign, would you recommend posting the same stuff to each social media venue? Like when she writes a post on the blog, share that exact same post on pinterest, related photo on instgram, post same post on facebook and tweet the subject? Or would you post different things to every avenue, different tidbits of info?

    Also, does anyone know if I post a picture of a victoria secret model to instagram or twitter, is that illegal even if the image is copyrighted? I know if i post it to my website, thats bad, but what about a social media account?

    If you are looking at fast results then I would suggest PPC with adwords or Bing. Adwords is fairly expensive but Bing will Do well for a blog.
