Monetizing a Thank You Page

What are the ways you monetize thank you pages? You already have the users email address at this point so do you just try to point them in the direction of ppc ads for some extra money?

Or do you try something a bit more sophisticated?

You can put a link to affiliate offer in your Thank You Page saying something like this "Thank You for yur request, your ebook/audio/video etc will be delivered to your provided email in 5 minutes. In the meanwhile you may want to look at this wonderful offer which is making some serious money for people" Now, this affiliate offer should be related to the existing subscription because you already know the taste or requirement of the person. So if your existing subscription is say ebook for getting 6 pack abs in 12 weeks, you can offer a health drink or something...you might have got the idea.

So you can make the sales page of the affilate offer and provide the link in your Thank You page. Wish you luck!

You could display an affiliate offer similar to your product or even to another one of your own products. Make sure whatever you decide to monetize is related closely to the niche as if you just display any random adverts/offers then the user will see it as spam. If you have other products, then you can link to them as the user already has some level of trust if they opted into your newsletter. Try different methods and see what works best.

The thing is though, I feel a little reluctant in trying to sell them something that quickly. They won't be that receptive as no trust has been built up. I would rather send them affiliate links through email after a few interactions.

I hear ya. I felt the same way but there is a psychology behind this. Once someone takes action they're already in the mind set to take more action. Obviously there is somewhat of a trust there. So it's the perfect time to offer them another action that helps them and pays you.
Why do you think fast food restaurants always ask you if you want a certain side or upgrade when you're in the process of buying something. It works!

Just keep in mind it doesn't have to be a paid offer either. You can do a free CPA offer and get paid that way which is what I tend to do.

But I plan to try a low priced offer. But it does work. No matter what you're going to lose people on your list for whatever reason. You might as well monetize some of them early before you do. And it doesn't have to be done in a grimy way. Hope that makes sense?

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. CPA is much more likely to be interesting for the user, rather than offering them products worth hundreds of dollars right out the gate.

Any info on where you get your CPA offers? I have heard of AdMedia but I am not that sure about them. I haven't tried them yet though.

Glad it does make sense to you. Everyone sleeps on CPA offers and just goes for sales. But there is some good money to be made with lead based offers as well. I get my offers from Maxbounty. I also work directly with certain companies without the affiliate network and that tends to get you higher payouts per lead. But it shouldn't be hard to find CPA offers for your niche. Just do a google search to see what's out there.

millions of dollars of products are sold every single week from people buying products through affiliates they don't know.

"trust" of the person who drove a web visitor to a site, isn't always the biggest factor of why a person buys or doesn't.

        Always test...Never assume.

I've made hundreds of thousands of dollars redirecting people to offers that way...i've also had campaigns give me a better overall epc not sending directly to an offer after an optin.

the only way to really know what's best is to test.

Also another idea of monetization is prepopulating the leads information into another offer on your thank you page where you get paid per action.

And the last monetization method is creating an offer wall.

        Hope that helps.

Upsells, affiliate offers, CPA links, etc. The point is to monetize on the users current trust level and don't just let them leave the site.

Many are doing youtube video thank you pages with embedded ads.

If the thank you page is not for your own product (i.e. to download, new member, etc.) and rather for someone subscribing to your list in your autoresponder service you could set the thank you page to the sales page of the offer you would like to promote or a CPA offer.

A lot of folks use a OTO a.k.a One Time Offer.

In the MMO niche, I think it is standard and advisable.

Not so much in Non- Mmo niches

Sometimes you can lead them to your pre-sell content, in your blog or past email newsletter archive. Or perhaps, if you are into info-product, why not offer a special discount for your own products?

I remember one time ago, somebody created a system and recruited marketers to join and put the system's ads on thank you pages. The ads would rotate special offers from other marketers.

On the thank you page, you've got options.

1 - CPA offers - you can show banner(s) for great CPA offers. This works. It's low barrier of entry, and you can make a killing from it if you chose CPA offers that really match your product / market

2 - Affiliate Offers - Brent showed you a GREAT screenshot. that's EXACTLY how you can do it. It works - extremely well. In fact, I set it up exactly like he showed you on a few of my past launches and got about 30 - 35% of people to buy it.

Just pick an offer that is related to your niche, converts really well (high EPC) and you'll do great.
Bonus points if you find a winner that gives you 100% commission. money in the bank!

    3. - Your Upsell - if they didn't buy your main upsell.. your thank you page is a PRIME location to offer it again. Give them more incentive to buy then (throw in an extra bonus / a discount / or something that really puts them over the edge). You would be surprised at how many people will buy your upsell that didn't earlier.

4 - Webinar / Autowebinar - this is my ACE up my sleeve, and this alone helped me make an extra half a million dollars this last year with little to no effort. On my thank you page I put a big banner or do a popup to get them to register for a webinar. Add some urgency on it..

limited spots / exclusive offer / only available for member's / seating limited / etc.

They click the banner and they get sent to the webinar registration page (or autowebinar) . If you make it sound cool enough, you can get almost every single person to sign up for the webinar. On the webinar you can pitch a high ticket product $500, $1,000, $2500+ and clean up shop.

If you don't have your own product you can always become an affiliate for someone else's webinar or team up with someone and split the money with them.

The best successes I've had were:

    1) Selling my PLR product (in the IM niche) and then promoting the tool I used to create my sales page (it was Profit Theme at the time) which was around the hundred dollar mark. Essentailly both my product and the Profits Theme were time saving products so suited to the same marketers. And they had evidence from seeing my sales page.

    2) Promoting the list of someone I follow and who used lifetime cookies so if they bought anything through that list today, tomorrow or in a years time I would get a commission. That way I kinda had two shots at making extra sales -- first by emailing them when they were on my list and second through the 'other marketer' emailing them.

    Worked for me.

Depending on what they opted in to receive further information about...

I've had good success with putting a link to a highly recommended offer.

Aside from that (depending on your niche and traffic source)...

You can send them to PPL offers.

Most of new Internet marketers are reluctant to offer another product on Thank you page because they think that their subscriber may not like this.

But the fact is that selling on Thank you page works. People follow the affiliate links on thank you page and buy the products if they are like them.

You should promote something closely related to your niche on Thank you page. There are 2 options:

1- Mention the new products on thank you page using images or text etc.

2- Redirect the user to affiliate link after 3-5 seconds. You can display some text like " Your Gift Has Just Been Emailed To You Before You Go... You Might Be Interested To See This".
