If selling to U.S. only do you I.P. ban the rest of the world?

I have a couple of websites that sell products only to U.S. residents.

When I check my stats I see a lot of visitors from Russia, China and other "hacker" countries.

Should I ban non U.S. countries? I use WP so I am sure there is a plugin for it.

In my opinion, if you are using PPC or other paid traffic, then you should filter traffic so you may not pay in vain. Otherwise if it is free traffic, you can generate income non US traffic with CPA/PPD offers.

    I wouldn't stop there.

I'd also filter traffic to SQUEEZE PAGES by country.

I wouldn't just block the other traffic...you're wasting good traffic! Consider setting up a geo ip redirect that will redirect people based on their IP..if they are connecting from the US it takes them to the US landing page/offer, if from Canada then to a different Canadian offer..etc.

Yup - me too, including a couple where shipping overseas by air - even to western Europe - is too expensive for customers.

I block when I don't sell there - no reason to allocate bandwidth and server resources when you can't help them and they can't buy from you.

The best free plugin I've found is IQ Block Country and the best paid IP blocker is Wordfence. IQ Block Country even allows you to provide a helpful message when blocking.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely be redirecting them somewhere.

I think most of the hacker type visitors I get are probably bots and not actually someone looking at a computer screen. Seems like some type of PPV would work best with bot traffic.

If you are using pay per click, you can allow only US residents to view your offer.

Your site may get some free SEO traffic from other countries so I would suggest that you also allow other countries to be able to buy what ever your are selling. Don't limit yourself.
