ESET antivirus blocks Aweber redirects

This could be potentially quite big for anyone who uses Aweber for their mailing list. ESET have started blocking all Aweber redirects from any emails sent.

In other words, if you are using Aweber to send emails to clients. Any links contained in that email to your product or affiliate link are getting blocked if the user has ESET antivirus installed on their computer.

As far as I understand, Aweber are aware of this as they have been told by ESET and they have left it to Aweber to rectify the problem that is causing the false positives.

    Hi Stephen,

I'm not sure if it's the same issue - but Thunderbird has an alert when it sees something that looks like a URL, that points somewhere else - as is common place if you're using naked urls in HTML email.

Is that what ESET is picking up, or are they blocking clicks.aweber.com?

    Cheers,
    Michael

They are blocking clicks.aweber.com it is definitely a false positive but it could seriously impact the performance of our mailing lists. Eset have an 11% share of the antivirus market, so potentially 11% of people on our mailing lists will not be able to get redirected to the offer.

More importantly, I also would imagine that if ESET are blocking then there is a chance that the others will be also at some point.
