A Question About Flippa And Adsense

Hi warriors, I am in the process of buying a website on Flippa and I am worried the seller may be lying.

He had 132,000 traffic in March according to Google Analytic and made $1600+. I thought this isn't possible but check his adsense account ( via Google analytics ), it shows the figure is right.

Could it be possible that he has made sites linked to the same account or does Google analytics show reports for each individual site?

I'm no warrior and haven't made much money with websites but I do know a few things on website buying.

Couple of things you want to check out...

You want to look at the backlink profile. See what kind of links are sending traffic, how many domains, eft. Look at the sites as well. This is important as it will tell you where the site is getting its link juice from. You also want to look at what the site is ranking for. Honestly look at everything. Check to see if the domain has tru PR even though Google isn't really using PR to rank anymore, but it will tell you if a high trafficked domain may be being forwarded to it. Check the DA,PA, Moz, ect. Even look on way back machine. Do your research.

To be quite honest, buying on flippa isn't easy. You're better off with empire flippers. At least if you have no clue what you're doing they do some stuff for you. A lot of sellers on there use black hat tricks like PBR which Google is catching on to. Don't get caught in that! Good luck!

Sorry to break it to you but that's easy to fake.

Do a search for video verification on Flippa and you'll see what I mean.

Personally, I like WarriorForum's system better. It has more hooks. Harder to fake.

It's only a matter of time until scam sellers ruin Flippa.

If I were Flippa, I'd be more proactive in preventing fake sites from ever being listed.

I'm not sure if Empire Flippers is any better as far as final results are concerned.

The best alternative is a platform that vets and verifies income claims.

That's exactly what we do, actually - we vet and verify traffic and income claims. (along with checking to make sure the seller's a real person, we have all their info, etc.)

There are plenty of other things to look out for and, ultimately, due diligence is up to the buyer, but this definitely helps keep the quality of sites listed with us much higher. We end up rejecting quite a few submissions.

I don't recommend Flippa for selling or buying good websites. Use EmpireFlippers.com instead. They are safe and reliable. They investigate the websites properly and there are lesser chances of fraud.

As a final layer of PROTECTION:

You should insist on a 30 day ESCROW period.

You get to hold the site for 30 days.

Check its traffic sources and see if revenue keeps up.

If everything is legit, you unlock the cash from escrow after 30 days.

Unfortunately Flippa doesn t verifies users informations.

You could take all the information of the seller (where he live, identity card etc...) and verify if corrispond with domain registration name; contact him and speak with him face to face with skype.

Purpose to hold the site for one month for check receipts.
