ou domain name should be related to the website in order to be profitable in the long term. Suppose your website is about IM tips then it can be like InternetMarketingTips.com. Another example...a hosting company named its domain as A2hosting.com, google mail services named it as Gmail.com...I am sure you must have got the idea.
Another idea to pick a domain name is if you want to create your goodwill then you can piack a domain with your name and add a keyword like profitwithcodedman.com or codedmanforrescue.com. However, since your purpose is to resell the domain later on, this idea might not suit your purpose but its for giving you a general idea.
If your domain name relates to the content inside your website then visitors would easily be able to relate it and then that domain can easily be incripted in their sub-conscious mind yielding you profits.
    Wish you luck!

A domain name should be catchy! That's all you need to keep in mind when buying a new domain name. Short and catchy is the perfect combination, IMO.

      Hi...

Many questions like this have been fielded in the past....so use the search feature.

If your interested in getting into Dominating then Gene Pimentel has an excellent course that will cut to the case and give you all of the details you need.

Beware of people hot there who are taking Gene's material and repackaging it as their own...I have experienced this myself.

      To your Success,
      -Terrance

pick a name that you like and is available.

Seriously, picking a domain name is the easiest part of the whole process, if you can not even do that on your own, then how do you expect to put the rest of your business together

        Best response ever...

Craiglist isn't catchy... it also ran off a .org for the longest time. And if Amazon's domain name wound up as buyandsellatamazon.com it would still be worth just as much as it is now (given no other variables change).

I can't believe how much time Warriors and IMers in general sweat and fuss about the 'perfect' domain name. FFS pick one.

    You are already doomed.

Nobody starts from where you are with the goal you have stated and gets anywhere.

It just doesn't work that way.

Most people buy dozens or hundreds of bad domains before figuring out their sweet spot, if they ever do.

I suggest you spend some time at dnforum.com and see everyone with pretty decent domains who cannot even give them away. That is your competition.

Not to say you can't do better, but it is a lot more work than you think it will be and there is a significant learning curve.

Why not focus on trying to actually create a business that helps solve a problem for people?

Registering a good domain name is the easiest part and you should not have any problems. The hard part is getting someone in the near future to buy it from you.

If your plan is to buy good domain names and then sell them, this will be the hard part.
