how to counter Spam to your site?

there are many spam how to counter?
whereas some I find it " real " comments.

Presently I have to always one by one see and delete unwanted spam comments.

    Akismet has always been the best plugin for me. It doesn't take too long to get it setup and works wonders for spam. There will always be a few comments that get through, but most of the spam will be canned.
