Work with residual income programs only and once you start to earn a really nice income, then and only then should you tell them about your success.

If you haven't yet made a full-time income and are getting a bit nervous, consider having a part-time job or freelancing gigs that make use of your skills. For example if you have studied statistics extensively, you can offer tutoring service along side with your IM career.
This doesn't mean that you are giving up IM, it is just to put your mind more at ease and reduce the pressure from your family.

Well I would not just quit my daytime job to be a full time IM unless I see that my earnings are doing well. Reality check is, you still need money to eat, pay your bills, etc. I know it can be tough and very challenging to work on two jobs at the same time but that is the sacrifice you have to make to make things work well for you.

Hi Chin, it needs a commitment, deducation, whole-hearted efforts, burning desire to achieve success. There is a time period for every one to reach the goals they decide for themselves. The fact which metters is how much strong you are during that period where you're struggling, how passionately you want your dreams to come true, how much motivated you are to see through that period. And by strong I dont mean physically or financially, I mean Mentally. There are tips through which you can make yourself mentally strong. However, its all in sub-conscious mind. So if you hav the surrounding of people that support you thats great but if you are in th company of people who doubt or question you its better not to tell them anythin...facts and figures, your targts, dreams, your income etc...Because if they so not support you then they will say things which might penetrate your shield over sub conscious mind and fill that with doubts and questions that will make you doubt over yourself that what you want you can achieve them or not. This is the most dangerous condition as then you will start wastin your valuable time over useless thinkin then to work productively towarda your dreams. Moreover, when you doubt yourself, who will hav th confidwnce to believe you. Hence, make your thought vibrations so intense that you bring lives to dreams in other people rather than doubtin over your dreams AND whatever is making you doubtin over your dreams, ignore better eradicate that thing

I just tell most people I'm a translator and that's what I do at home with my computer. I do plenty of translations, but it only takes about 20% of my time, the rest of it goes to IM and trying out different businesses and strategies.

Translation is something that everyone understands and nobody questions. However, I don't have to report my earning to no-one.

how long you do it?

Nothing comes overnight, it takes a bit 'of time, such patience and commitment.

If it is a long time you do IM and the results do not come, maybe you should change something.

I'd like to put a little bit of a different spin on this. As stated above:

1. It's absolutely true that you need to continue to work hard if you want to succeed.
2. It's absolutely true that it can take a bit of time before you see significant returns.
3. It's absolutely true that if you give up too soon you will fail.

But the thing is that you can also do all of the above and still fail. You can work hard and fail. You can wait for years and years and yor income may never improve. You can never give up and still fail. In fact most entrepreneurs who do those three things -- both online and offline -- do fail. The sad truth is that starting a new business -- whether it's online as an internet marketer or offline as a restauranteur -- is risky. And working hard, taking action and not giving up aren't enough to bring success by themselves.

So I guess I'd side with the people questioning you. You've been asking these sorts of questions on the WF for months now, which signals to me that you're not having much success. This could mean that you just need to just power through this lull and keep doing what you're doing. Even well-funded, extremely-talented businesses with solid business models like Facebook and Amazon.com took years to get to profitability after all.

But it could also mean that you need to pivot, shake things up, figure out what you're doing wrong or even decide if what you're doing is worth doing at all. Because no matter how hard you work, how long you work at it and how long you refuse to give up, if you're doing the wrong thing, you'll never find success. After all, if you build one car with square wheels there's no reason to believe that the 1,000,000th car you build with square wheels will do any better. It's not a matter of working harder, spending more time or not giving up. You need to fix those wheels.

The trick -- and this is one of the things that separates successful entrepreneurs from failures -- is figuring out when what you're doing is the right thing, but just needs more time and more work to pan out or when you're doing the online equivalent of making cars with square wheels.
