I was thinking of leveraging hubpages to do sort of a 'bum marketing' strategy.

Hubpages has large authority on Google, and its easy to rank for keywords there(sometimes within days).

It is very possible to use this platform to promote Clickbank products, but in an indirect way. Since hubpages prevents outright affiliate promotion, you would use another article directory, such as ezine articles and put your affiliate link in the resource box of another helpful article, and simply drop the link to your ezine article within your hubpages article.

If you target hot buyer keywords you could make a decent scalable income easily.

I would avoid using hubpages like that. If you want to make money leveraging them, just use their built-in forms of monetization -- like adsense and amazon. I don't think the clickbank idea would be worth it the way you're planning to do it.

Thanks to Google Penguin updates and the current PHANTOM update, you're several years late to the bum marketing party.

The elevator to online riches is (permanently?) out of order....

    The good news?

    The stairs are always open.

Quality high converting sites have to be built.

Real sustainable income has to be EARNED.

Friend I don't think you understood my post.

I am not trying to rank articles on article directories.

I am funneling traffic from hubpages to a seperate article that will promote my affiliate offer.

Big difference from traffic funneling and blackhat seo.

Thanks for keeping the non testers out lol You are half right, though.

It's not as easy as it used to be.

To the OP, yes you can. Don't throw too many junk links at your Hubs because you'll get easily get them dinged.

Focus them on super low competition keywords and then build up your Hub profile and shoot links to it.

Rank off the authority from the site and your profile.

Comment on other peoples Hub accounts to get more internal juice flowing to yours.

It's just another parasite with it's own quirks.

      ----------------------------------------------

Edited 5/21/2015 -- Hubpages was part of the "Phantom" update and took a ding. They're probably on their way out, this is the third time they've gotten hit.

I wouldn't be surprised if Google sits on HP at this point. Watching what marketers are trying to do, and tweaking their algorithms to suit. Probably not worth it now. If you've got the time, test it for yourself, but it's not a good main strategy.

        Glad you noticed that.

Reminds me of how suspicious it is that Google ads are running on one of the biggest BH sites on the planet....

Like I said, time to put in the real work.

There are a few other parasite platforms out there with social media hooks that allow you to fly under the radar.

        But for how long?

Churn and burn and 'bum income' type marketing is fast going out of style.

        Time to build REAL sites?
