Internet marketing at its finest - religious groups

Was watching a religious channel the other night and have to admit they really have their marketing down. You can watch them for a while and learn a lot. It's funny how you recognize this stuff.

They have their team of operators taking donations, they have their website where you can study free lessons, of course there is an upgrade option for a fee, then they have their store where you can buy study lessons, books, DVDs, clothing, make donations etc.

They collect emails, phone numbers and even home addresses. They even did a live tutorial on how to go to their site and sign up. How you can like them on Facebook and so on.

I don't want to get into a religious debate or anything like that I'm just impressed with how they market we could learn a few things from them.

Good observation. Truth be told they had the online marketing down to a science before most big businesses. Before that they were masters at mail order and direct mail marketing that rivaled Fortune 500 companies, especially the bigger channels, ministries and ministers.

I still get mail from one ministry I donated to 5 years ago and I've moved twice. How they find me I have no idea.

common trait between successful people. Whether its a religion or the universe but they all share it. As within as without....

Bottom line is people are who they hang out with and what they think about so choose wisely!

Pick a niche that people are passionate about, give them a free gift in return for contact details, give them what they are looking for with lots of value, continue to build a relationship as they are exposed to your funnel, up sell, cross sell valuable content.

Whatever niche you're in perhaps it really does work
What a great observation- thanks, really makes you think.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people use the "religious" mantra when trying to make a buck. It is unreal how many spam emails I receive every single day from marketers attaching the title "Pastor" or "Reverend" etc hoping to gain an extra edge of trust and what have you.

It is very plausible that some of them are legit, but many are wolves in sheep's clothing.

Religion is one of the oldest, best money making niches ever. Since the dawn of human history.

People like to buy their way out of imaginary fears. Find out what they're afraid of, convince them that you've got something that will allay their fears, put a price tag and regimen on it, and you're good to go.

Yes, these are good tactics. Every marketer should use them.
