Blogs include article posts.. but article posts are not blogs. Articles are in a sense the building blocks of a blog.

By the way.. small world but I'm from Arlington, Tx as well!

An easy way to understand the difference:

A Blog is basically a website where you post stories/information/articles/etc. for sharing, discussion and more.

An article post is just a individual article, story or other information that you put on your blog site.

    Seriously?

An article is something you write and can be posted anywhere. On a website, press release, social media, blog, etc. A blog is just a blog. You write articles on blogs but you also write them everywhere else.

This is like asking what's the difference between flour and bread.

Blog posts tend to be episodic in nature. Usually, timebound/time sensitive.

    Articles generally aren't time-bound.

But those are generalizations. The line between the two can be quite blurry.

Well, i guess they can be if you have ulterior purposes for them. I write content for my site everyday and post on my blog everyday. I just use both. I have to do it. In fact, if you have time to do it.... write an article per day for both of them.

Why? Because some people like reading a blog and find it easier finding relevant content that way, and others prefer the article site route. Serve both people, but give both the same pitch for your product.

Well, blog is platform while article is the same thing as the content.
There is really no big deal or difference between the two.

Agree with the first two commentators. Blogs and articles are somewhat differed. Like article is a unique content. It came from direct source while blogs are opinions, lessons, etc. Articles included interviews or research from credible experts, while blogs has no interviews or research needed. In article, good grammar and spelling is a must and needs to have a lot of QA while on blogs it doesn't really matter.
