Probably the lowest common denominators would be:

    Generating traffic

Keeping that traffic (building a community or converting temporary traffic into list members)

    CONVERSION

    Never under estimate conversion issues.

I have to agree, traffic is one of the most challenging part in IM. When you have traffic it's easy to fix the other things.

Building and maintaining traffic and creating a system that converts. I mean you could pay for traffic to keep a constant flow, but that costs of course. I would like to build a steady flow of organic and targeted traffic. With that being said though most people think that if they had traffic everything would be easy going. If you don't have a system in place that converts prospects into buyers then all the traffic in the world still won't matter.

It's probably more so important to have a proven system in place first. Then work on traffic.

I think most people either have trouble with getting traffic, or converting the traffic they're getting. Both go hand in hand and you need to have a good understanding of them both to make it work. My answer to this question is probably the same as most everyone else..get more traffic! lol. who wouldn't want more traffic?

I agree with everyone else about getting traffic. It's one of the most challenging strategies that most marketers face. I actually struggled a lot with it in the past when I first started because I didn't understand the concept of knowing you target market. It's important that before you even start to generate traffic, you do your research and learn about your target market. Another thing I found challenging at first was using social media to generate customers. Facebook in particular. Facebook PPC advertising can be a bit tricky. What I do see a lot of people doing on facebook is posting their links all over the work from home groups, spam messaging and spam tagging. I think that the answer to solving any of these solutions is to invest in your education, apply it and teach others. I actually wrote a blog post about generating free traffic titled: "4 Easy Ways To Generate Tons Of Free Targeted Traffic To Your Site Or Blog"

Conversion is most difficult task, in my opinion

Getting traffic depends on a lot of factors but that can be solved with money.

Designing a creative sales strategy that converts does seem to be the trick.

Everyone starting out spams Facebook groups to the point that it kills groups that allow sales posts. It's old news. People these days naturally block out advertisements, apparently less than 17% of viewers even look at them. A new approach is needed than the same old nonsense every new website owner does with a limited budget.

I rarely come across a website with a good conversion strategy, most of the others who attempt it are like a lot of the ads you see on here... Sign up to my list to see how johnny quit his job and now makes $463 a day from home. Good for those of us who are willing to put the work in to understand how to do it effectively as viewers are a lot wiser these days.

Possibly the best way to get an understanding of how to effectively convert traffic is simply to post a link to a website that you think achieves that aim.

The best example for me is hubspot as it is their business and they do it better than anyone else I have seen.

My biggest challenge is motivation. Plain and simple. Working online, often isolated is not all that it's cracked up to be. I live alone and am jealous quite frankly of those who have a family and can use that as motivation to work harder.
I suppose I should do what society expects from me, and settle down with 1.5 kids and maybe just maybe, that'll make it easier to get up in the morning and stumble over to my laptop.

The world is changing. Internet Marketing is not what it used to be.

      Many have become jaded.

Only the top Gurus who market for each other are still making it big.

However they have created a huge gap in the industry...a hole.

There are millions who suffer because no matter how hard they try they never make any money.

New things are on the horizon, and this is about change for everybody.....

There are different ways to motivate yourself beyond the traditional pressures of paying for the kids braces. Write a list of what you want to achieve in the next 3 years and chase each and every one of them.

  • Interesting how "Traffic" seems to be a major challenge that most marketers "think" they have a challenge with.

Of course we all would like to think that we are offering something great (once traffic arrives to our sites,)
but sometimes we tend to be biased about our own stuff.

From what I can see (for what my opinion is worth) there are some bigger issues.

In an effort to learn more about my fellow warriors, I find myself visiting Signature files,
trying to figure out what services or products are being offered.

So I browse around and either come across yet another "me too" Internet Marketing blog,
or worse, one with poorly written, outdated, or ho hum content, or... nope don't worry,
I didn't miss that big ass ugly affiliate banner.

In others, I'm trying to understand the website navigation, or understand what link(s)
I'm supposed to visit. (no call to action or "start here") so I aimlessly roam around instead.

Yet in other sites, I'm trying to figure out the purpose of site/vendor/service/product,
but not before being attacked by an optin form, and tons of other reasons
as to why I feel the urge to get out of there.

Ok, so there's my traffic contribution to some of these Sig files, and to some marketers
who think that traffic is the issue.

I'm almost certain that many warriors don't even know themselves what they are trying to do online
with their site, yet they are trying to drive traffic to it.

Maybe having a better (original) purpose online, should be the first challenge solved.

"me too" products and websites / blogs are so yesterday.

Be unique, have something new, then drive traffic.

When you believe something will work, you will follow through to completion.

Shiny object syndrome happens when you don't believe the system will work, and you move on tho the next shiny object.

The day of helping others (real help) is coming. It is the new wave in Internet Marketing.

The major problem everyone faces is NOT MAKING ANY MONEY!!!
The reasons are numerous and varied but mainly boil down to this.
1: You still want to believe there is a push button copy and paste way of generating huge amounts of money on tap with zero effort...
2: You do not have system and you do not stick to 1 thing.

the simple simple fact is there is huge amounts of money made in IM especially affiliate marketing your just still going about it the wrong way, you dont have a blueprint to follow and no system.

To get you fired up again try this

for newbies and jaded marketers seeking quick commissions... one easy quick method to get your affiliate commissions .
Step 1: Goto clickbank pick a product in a niche you at least have some interest in and a gravity >10.
Step 2: Scan the sales page /sales video pick out 3 features/benefits
Step 3: Go to youtube create a live event use a title with keywords of the product.
In another tab open up salespage of the product your promoting. Broadcast this page and just scroll through and verbalize your 3 key points you like.

P.S just ensure you include your clickbank hoplink in the live event description and use keywords of the product to describe what the event is about.Your preety much guaranteed page 1 google
No leadpages, no website no traffic generation required.

My biggest challenge is keeping a high flow of good, targeted traffic to my squeeze pages so I can constantly add as many new leads as possible to my list. It's much easier said than done, and it's certainly not cheap. You also have to make sure you are getting traffic using methods that are within the TOS of any services you are using, such as autoresponders, hosting, Facebook PPC, Adwords, Bing PPC, etc.

It's not always easy to keep everything compliant. It sometimes takes a lot of tweaking and even setting up different funnels for different traffic methods, etc. That's my biggest challenge.

If you are buying solo ads, it's not always easy to find good sellers, and sometimes you outright get ripped off. I think anyone can get a lot of traffic. It's getting a lot of great traffic that is often difficult.

I'm having problems to get traffic. Because I'm young I don't have that much of money to spend on ads...

Of course there are different types of traffic, I want quality traffic. It's better to have 100 quality optins than 1000 inactive.

Doing free marketing. Somedays i don't do crap. Just advertise that's it on autopilot. Then somedays i hit free marketing hard to land interviews, partnerships, JV's, and niche recognition.

I always "say" i dont care about the glory - so i advertise everywhere i can. So i can get that paper coming in real quick.

But then again... i figure i might as well get the glory. So i do free marketing in almost every venue online to "get my name known".

I know, makes no sense. Must be the lack of sex lately... i'm not use to that.

But traffic is easy. Just throw money into things that work everyday.
