I recently wrote a post about how hard IM is and how I lost interest.

I got a LOT of great responses to my thread and actually got some new inspiration to POSSIBLY use IM to sell my MLM product.

This inspiration came from a comment a guy made that said some of his IM clients can write off $2000 expenses by making one sale a month!

That means they have hi ticket item products with massive commissions

sounds a bit like what I got and what I've been selling successfully using telemarketing

But having a background in IM gives me the possibility of getting eyeballs on my product online!

So the point of this thread is to possibly talk about some of the best methods for selling my MLM product online.

I originally thought of making a website, SEO'ing it, and getting traffic that way but man is that a lot of work for maybe no success.

I would definitely want to target the 'make money from home' niche.

I have no qualms with spending money on paid traffic but problem is I have little experience with it.

I have a TIGHT marketing system using the telemarketing. It works like gangbusters.

Maybe I could send paid online traffic to my telemarketing message 618-355-1946???

Anybody with experience in sending traffic to a telephone number would be greatly appreciated - I would be hangin off your every word.

Banner Ad idea:
make money from home, call this number .....

Or something like that.

anyways, I'd love to hear your thoughts and thank you in advance

And what about purchasing email leads and sending them emails?

seems a bit spammy to me but that is precisely what we do with our telemarketing leads but it's just telephone rather than email

is this an option? I've never done anything remotely like that before.

I have built a list using SEO but that is too much work for what I am interested in doing

    This is interesting.

I do something similar; just a different market. You have dozens of options, but I'll just get the ball rolling with one. Since you're selling high-tickets, you could look into becoming an advertiser with a network like PeerFly.com. Setup a long-form and offer PPL. Pause the offer after you reach your comfort zone with leads and assess your ROI. You can then readjust everything, including the payout amount on PPL or even switch to PPS or rev-share. You'll get the ball rolling quicker this way, than you will by growing the traffic yourself.

If you're nasty at closing on the phone, your only issue is getting people to call.

There's a million ways to accomplish that.

It's something you could accomplish with solo ads - IF you find the right vendors.

(Huge emphasis on IF you can find the right vendors).

Did I mention there's a huge emphasis on finding the right vendors?

(You would also need to have a cool little funnel setup that prompted people to call you, or otherwise left you their phone number).

    :]

PS: I like what GRM posted above... One of my buddies recommended that I do something similar but I'm way too lazy and it seems like too much work.

BUT - it's a definite way to get boats of leads, no doubt about that.

If you want to apply IM to MLM then Mike Dillard and Daegen Smith are
the guys to check out. They have made using the internet to build super
downlines into a science. I've written copy for Daegan for many years
and know that his model works. The trick is to get people to call you
rather than the other way around. Do the filtering upfront.

Yes, I think IM is very compatible with MLM. Just follow the MLM fundamentals: drive traffic to an offer page, capture contact information, and get your prospects into your funnel.

The only other tidbit I'd add is that more than just a sales business, MLM is a people / relationship / teaching and training business. You want the people that you recruit or sponsor into your business to be able to go out and duplicate your results. There are some great systems out there right now for helping you create that duplication.

I personally have just started using Michael Dlouhy's Mentoring For Free system. My mentor there has built 90% of his MLM business with it and describes it as "hermit friendly." Perfect for the internet marketer who doesn't get out much! But there are many great systems online today for doing that.

I wouldn't waste time or money buying leads. Create your own leads by following the basic IM principles, then build a relationship with your prospects, find out what they want, and show them how they can get it with your business.

Also, I'd recommend looking at Tom "Big Al" Schreiter's stuff for giving the people on your team the skills to go out and recruit offline.

That's just my two cents. Hope it helps.

All the best to you and your business!

IM is almost an essential part of selling MLM, in my opinion. Don't push your company on others, but help them achieve their goals by proving value and then selling them training first, that way it doesn't matter if they don't join your business in particular.

Doing so will just boost your own online reputation, allowing you to make connections more easily. People will come to you to join your team or trust that you can help them out in some way.

It appears you may be trying to sell your MLM product via IM rather than recruiting, training, developing a network. This puts a slightly different slant on things I think. Perhaps you mean "selling" in the wider sense through the distribution network with a lot of people doing a little. I'm sure you are aware already but just to clarify when sharing the business opportunity and the products some people become distributors and customers, others just retail customers, and others ignore your offer altogether ( at least for now).

It might help to know what your product is?

SEO is probably going to be hard work so paid traffic might be a better ( greater volume faster) bet leading to a blog where you can build relationships. You'll need to develop the Know, Like, trust, factor. Much easier offline than online but MLM is definitely compatible with IM.

In fact MLM is a great niche for IMers. They tend to be passionate and prepared to spend money on their education. As they are interested in making money so there is therefore opportunity to cross sell MLMers the residual income opp that is IM.

Totally agree with this. The funnel can be the level/ quality of contact you have. First they give you an email address, when you've earned their trust they may give you their phone number, skype meet etc.Eventually you could be meeting at company events with a key person in your business, building the relationship even further, and hopefully having a lot of fun in what can be a fantastic business.
Big Al is great. Also look out for Eric Worre.

I have learned from personal experience it is very very difficult to grow a traditional offline MLM business, online. To cut to the chase and save you a lot of time, I suggest you stick to traditional offline promotional methods to expand your MLM busines. Focus on your warm market, word of mouth, team meetings, newspaper ads and strategies like that.

Marketing an IM/MLM product is probably one of the hardest things you can do online due to heavy competition and the amount of garbage/scams out there. It's a very dirty market with all kinds of products, so building trust is crucial with your customers.

If you don't have a budget for any paid methods, then your only option would probably be to start a blog/website, build up your traffic slowly by offering tips/tricks of the trade and pitching a free report for your visitors in exchange for their email address, where you can later sell them your stuff.
