Why do people care so much about metrics when they can be easily faked?

DA, PA, TF, whatever. They are all computer generated figures that use algorithms that are easy to manipulate with a few weeks of testing on how they work.

With the market heading the way it is, I think there's value in creating high metric domains and selling them... regardless if they are good or not. If they have high metrics, I feel they will sell.

In some cases (Fake Alexa or Fake PR), the metrics can be checked.

Yet you are right, a domain with good PA-DA-PR can have a good value on the market, if you are that good on manipulation...i suggest you do it!

I try to choose domains with a good sound and easy, worst case scenario i ll keep em!

    It depends on the metric.

If you use SPAM links to boost PA/DA, it's very easy to detect.

Focus on NICHE-Specificity and LINK VALUE instead.

You don't need spam to manipulate the metrics.

And let us not forget the good old "edit any page" trick:

    javascript: document.body.contentEditable = 'true'; document.designMode = 'on'; void 0

Honestly, it's not that hard to obtain a decent DA/PA if you're practicing white hat techniques...it's just a matter of getting quality links and having solid content. There's no reason to try and manipulate things if your goal is having a legitimate ranking.

With that said, what's a domain worth with let's say (just a random example here)-

    - a DA of 30-40
    - a PA of 25-35
    - 50+ quality referring domains (let's say PR 4/DR 50 and above)
    - 5,000 hits a month
    - a good niche dot com name

I've never been into flipping websites; honestly I've never even really thought about it. But a site like that is achievable in 6-8 weeks. The only question is- what would it sell for?
