Is traditional article "blogging" dead?

Seems any really popular "guru" type website where the premise is a product or service offered by an individual person 100% of the time relies on Video blogging.

I am seeing more and more traditional blogs that have been around for years get away from standard article writing and going to v-blogging with maybe a 100 word summary around the video.

Does anyone even read any more? Seems like the only way to get someone's attention even if they are a "fan" is through video.. God forbid you write an interesting article..LOL

"Traditional" article blogging isn't dead. If you want alot of good repeated hits to your blog everyday, build up a huge list simply for leading folks back to your blog - and there you have it.

Or you can drive the traffic straight to your blog and have them sign up to a form on the side of the blog, or even offer a hover ad. You'll make money either way (articles or videos).... assuming if you have good Adsense ads on there, and the affiliate links/product links on your blog are relevant.

Oh... and plus you need good content to keep them clicking to come back.

It's obvious that video marketing is becoming more and more popular.

People like video, but it's not for everyone. That's why you should appeal to all the senses.
Some marketers are better than others at video, so they play to their strengths.

Putting yourself on camera is a great way to build trust and rapport with your audience versus hiding behind only text.

But with the emergence of Vine, Instagram video, Twitter video, etc.
Video marketing is definitely blowing up and something you shouldn't ignore.
    It's stimulating.

  • Ideally you'd upload a video to Youtube and then have your Youtube video link to your website to drive traffic from Youtube. Simultaneously you could embed your Youtube video onto your blog to offer multiple mediums of content (and possibly earn points with Google as you're perceived to be offering a richer user experience) and quickly transcript your video or write an accompanying blog post below your video. This may seem like a lot of extra work, but you've already done all the creative effort upfront.

Any kind of marketing that is driven by content creation will never be dead or out of style. That would include:

    -Article Marketing
    -Blogging
    -Video Marketing
    -Forum Marketing

    Etc...

The reality behind the HYPE of video marketing is depressing...

Sure, once you get people to watch your video, the engagement level can be quite high.

The problem is getting people to watch your video.

    Most people tune out.

    That's the problem.

Traditional Blogging is not dead, If you dig deeper you will see that there are still a lot of people doing this method. A lot of people are doing Video Blogging since it is easier to get traction with the help of you tube .
