Is it okay to do this?

Hi,
Lately I have gotten into creating my own products. But for the past year or so I have been an affiliate marketer.

I am affiliating some products right now that do well, I got about 50% commission and call it a day. However, I already know how I can make the product better.

Would it be okay to create me own product based of the product I am affiliating only put my own twist into it?

One of my best performing sites is a review site , and the number 1 pick is the product that I would like to replace with my own product.. not only because I can make it better (for sure) but I would also increase my profit by 50% if I own the product..

I think is perfectly fine. In fact, many marketers do this too. There is nothing wrong in taking references from a performing product. If you feel that you can add something better to the product, do it.

Add your own twist to it, set up your sales page and start recruiting affiliates to sell for you.

Go for it. It is a good idea to eventually get into creating your own products. You could make your site a clickbank site and have affiliates promoting it for you.

Exactly, you should go for it. As long as you're not copying the other product (including it's name or using a very similar name) and adding your own touches, improving the product.

Do it! Build your own product. You will also build your own list and set yourself up in a much better position within your business plus you can upsale the original affiliate product at the end of your sales funnel if you wish!

No risk no gain if you do not try than how will you know that? And if you are confident that your product is better than the one you are affiliating than why you should not produce them? You better give a try.

Yeah, creating your own products is the way to go. Primarily because the profit margin is greater. At the same time it requires more work. If you are experienced with internet marketing and promoting other kinds of products then you should go for it.

There shouldn't be a problem doing this. As long as you don't plagarize, and like you said, you have your own twist, so your product should be unique.

Yep, it's likely the affiliate product that's converting for you is just a reworked version of something else. Please don't plagiarize though, we have enough of that already.
