Hello guys,

We all know that content is a king but what if one does not have a knack for writing? Is his online career doomed?

As I know there are several types of content besides plain articles: info graphics and videos. Is such type of content as good as texts? Are they easier to create or do they attract the same amount of traffic?

I won't lie to you: in my opinion, a firm grasp of the English language (or whatever language spoken by your target market) is probably paramount. Whether we're talking squeeze pages, blog posts, follow-up emails, or even headlines, much of your success will boil down to how well you deliver the written word.

Having said all that, some of the wealthiest friends or people I know are utterly hopeless communicators. Recognizing this deficit, they've been clever enough to select the right business model, the right one to display all of their other talents.

Looking at your post up there, your writing is fine. There is, of course, a world of difference between "fine" and being good enough, but I'd really have to see more of it to make a better judgement.

What you can consider doing - for now - is video marketing. It's the first option that springs to mind. Can videos send as much traffic as predominantly written ad platforms? More. And lots of it. To monetize the traffic you have 2 good options, as well: 1) redirect straight to offers (if the aff network allows it) or 2) squeeze. Pay someone to create your site for you, if need be, and I would imagine your writing is then more than adequate for emailing and sending out videos to your list.

You also may consider curated content, meaning a brief description/comment and a link to content on another site. Do a search on the forum for it.

No one is born as a copywriter. You do it to learn it.

If you don't really like writing, then probably to make it easier for you to do it, try writing about things that you enjoy...I don't know, maybe cars, football, computers, games?

Writing about your hobby or something that interests you is a lot easier, than just writing about something that you have no idea about, but you do it for the sake of making money.

Of course, that's assuming that whatever you like writing about is a niche with demand, so you'll be able to monetize your audience in the future.

Internet marketing is a business. In business anything can be outsourced aslong as you have a PLAN! In my opinion you don't have to be a natural writer IF you can afford to have content created for you.

You can have your seo done for you

    your social marketing

    you web design

IF you have the money you simply need to be able to tell others what to do.

Writing is personally my passion so I don't have this issue. If I did however, I would outsource the content and focus my efforts on strategically developing winning campaigns.

If you have the cash anything is possible.

EDIT I skimmed your post to quick and missed a main [point

Videos are an excellent form of content. Writing is still required for promotional purposes however.

Video is my main focus at the moment, it is something I've never been comfortable with BUT with changing times it is a required skill I feel.

I've been talking to a lot of marketing experts lately and the unanimous decision is that video is becoming the new long sales copy.

I will never abandon my long copy as I love to read, but in hopes of reaching a larger audience I want to start developing video to compliment.

My suggestion is if you are good at creating videos and have a winning personality you should thrive in the future if you have a solid marketing plan. Maybe team up with an experienced writer?

You're right, content is king, more than ever, since SEO shortcuts are no longer working to generate long-term success.

Text is great, as are photos, infographics, and videos, just as you mentioned. All of them can give you an SEO boost and also help you offer quality to visitors.

You do NOT have to be a great copywriter to build a website with great textual content. Marketing and writing are related skill sets, but not identical ones. You DO need to be willing to budget it. There are plenty of Warriors who specialize in writing content for websites, myself included. Just check "Warriors for Hire" and hit one of us up

Content is Queen, Promotion is KING.

The Internet Wasteland is has beautiful sites with some of the best in Content. But unfortunately who will see all of your valuable content if you don't learn how to promote it.

    Videos and Info Graphics?

Videos can work just as good as text..even better if you use Youtube. They rank very nicely since Google owns them.

I have seen some big time bloggers who use info graphics. Seems to work for them.

But your problem may not be a lack of 'having a knack' for writing.

It may be in your motivation or inspiration.

Pick a niche that you really resonate with first. Who can't write about their favorite subject?

    Absolutely not.

There are plenty of people online who do paid advertising 100%, and flourishing greatly. Your whole business model could revolve around paid advertising and you still would be in good standing. If you're not a great writer, or if you don't like to write much... it's okay. Do it on days when you feel like writing. There's no gun to your head here.

It's worth considering using screen capture videos for content, if your writing skills are not great.

There are a lot of very successful IM'ers out there that do just that.

For some people it's a lot easier to 'talk' someone through something than try to get it down in words

    All the best
