Hello . I have just launched my first affiliate site about a week ago , looking at my stats I am getting close to one hundred visitors a day , apart from being somewhat surprised at these numbers , as a newbie to the whole internet marketing world , is this good or bad , what sort of numbers should I be aiming for , also I have just two people added to my list for this site , when I went into this I hoped that I might make a sale in the first six months , I know that this is a marathon not a sprint with no quick easy money to be made , I guess that I just want to know from the more experienced people out there does it sound like I am at least on the right track ?
Thanks .

You're a newbie? Then this is excellent.

The truth is, no one can really tell you if these numbers are sufficient, but for a newbie they're still excellent. What do I mean by sufficient? I suppose a better word would be efficient.

I'll give you a couple of examples. I run more sites that my daughter has books (a lot), but I'll just tell you about 2 of them.

The first is an eCommerce site aimed at people who want to purchase a certain high-ticket item that I purchase (in person) from Beijing and Hong Kong. There is very little demand for these items, because they're quite pricey and very much aimed at a small target market. If I get 500 visits a month, and I tend to average around 300, I consider myself doing extremely well.

The second is a site I setup yesterday in the dating market. I put together the site in an afternoon and today I'm averaging around 1,000 visits an hour. Around 900 to 1,000. The traffic is 100% from socials: a combination of some of my own platforms (pages, groups, communities, profiles) and others, where I've been syndicating. I'm happy with the results and when I'm done testing (this is a new dating niche for me), I'll be able to outsource to a VA and have a pretty decent idea of how much traffic they should help to generate. If traffic slides, I know that they're screwing up.

So! Is it enough? It depends on your market, the target audience, and the platforms you use. But whatever the case, 100 a day for a newbie is - like I say - excellent. You're way, way, way ahead of the curve.

    Keep it up!

    Tom

It really depends on the niche of your site, for example my game site has 5,000 visits per day, but you should remember that online games are very popular... Most of the other niches are less popular then my niche (even significantly...)

You can never have too much traffic, assuming it's all relevant and genuine, so the more the better.

See where your current traffic is coming from and see if you can increase those numbers. If it's just one source, for example, Google, then try to diversify to other places, like forums, other blogs/websites or maybe social media, Facebook/Twitter.

You want to have a large diversity of traffic sources, because you don't want to be dependant on just one thing, in case it goes bust on you.

For a newbie this is fantastic. When it comes to the amount of traffic you want to see per day...how much do you want to see? You say that you want to make a sale in the next 6 months, what kind of product are you selling?

100 visits per day is an excellent starting point, considering you've made it that far as a newbie indicates that you can still go much much farther, maybe work your way up to 1,000 visits per day on your next launch.

    Anyways, great job man.

hundred visitors a day is a very good result to start!
you must concentrate on your conversion rate,
after that increase targeted visitors with paid traffic.
