I have recently decided I would like to make a youtube music channel, but I'm wanting to know what would make people come BACK to the youtube channel and look for more music or to listen to more music, thus monetizing off the traffic.

What would make YOU want to come back to a youtube channel, surf if ann keep coming back?

Quality videos behind the music?
Quality pictures?
The music in general?

It's a passion of mine and I'd love to be able to quit all the PPC and other marketing I do to just working on music (I know it's a very hard niche to get into) but I was just wondering fellow warriors,

What would make you always come back for more?

I would expect unique content would be a primary reason. For example, out here in LA there is Jam in a Van. Just putting together some songs into a channel may be quite a challenge.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Honestly - and I'm not being flippant - absolutely nothing. I have Sirius radio on my desktop. When I hear a song I like, I buy it on iTunes.

YouTube serves one function for me and that is learning about products that I may need to purchase for a client or myself. That's it. I have never played a YouTube music video. Not even once.

    Cheers. - Frank

Leave it to a Ranger's fan to claim they've never played a music video.

OP, everyone wants to work full time on their music. Join the crowd. Your chances are slim.

        Slim, perhaps, but not impossible.

I guess one could say the same slim odds exist for making money online full time.

Or so it appears for many.

I don't see what the two have to do with one another. Must be a Flyers fan to make such a ridiculous comment. lol

I have run my own Internet radio station for 8 years. Why would I watch YouTube music videos?

why would i search your site to find youtube music when i could just search youtube? only reason i would search your site is if you had exclusive content. do you have the $$ to procure exclusive content of bands that people care about? why would an unheard of artist restrict themself to your site unless you were going to compensate them very well?

and, you apparently have a marketing blog/company/whatever, but cant figure out how to market your idea? or are you using use as your focus group?

Great! Hopefully you won't do what millions of others do and that is to remain at the "decide" stage". Just set it up. Just don't do it as a "me too" channel or a side thought to make some extra cash.

Otherwise you can join the millions of other channels that have been around for years with currently 1 subscriber.

but I'm wanting to know what would make people come BACK to the youtube channel and look for more music or to listen to more music, thus monetizing off the traffic.
    - Focus on a specific genre perhaps.

    - A specif personality behind the channel, or some sort of original theme may help.

(otherwise great boobs will do just fine).

    - Compile music (of a similar genre, or taste, or era etc) that is not currently found in "one" channel, and spend the time compiling a playlist for those who are too lazy to do the searching.

I.E, I might subscribe to a reggae channel, or a Karaoke channel.

    Excellent!

I did the same thing many moons ago, (not a YouTube music channel, but other stuff).

Follow your passion. As for the "hard niche" belief, that's all in your mind set.
I see allot of discouraging people in this forum when it comes to encouraging creative passion niches such as music etc.

As if the advice of doing what "they" do, (sometimes because they failed in their passion pursuit at first) is so much better.

So the take away here is: Get a girl with great boobs to host your music videos, and your channel will catch on.

Option 2. Be creative (original way of presenting music videos) and this may work as well.

When it comes to YouTube I usually stay subscribed to a channel as long as content is posted regularly, it's unique, interesting relatable content, and the person behind the videos is fun and has a personality.

I say personality only because there are so many people on YouTube trying to make videos thinking that they will get rich off of ads just because their videos are in a certain niche. This is mostly the case with many gaming channels. The most successful channels however are the ones that can establish themselves as a personality in the field sort of like a brand.

I would watch every single video you upload if I like you as a person, and each video has something related to what I'm interested in. For example, if you make a channel about new sales funnel techniques, resources, styles, and upload content regularly (to feed my inner addiction of increasing ROI) then you will have my subscription for life.

I'm a trap/hip hop producer and I'll tell you this. Every beat out there sound the same. If you want to be big, you come up with originality or something that is beyond Soundclick catalogue. That should get you more attention.

What kind of music/beat do you make?

A lot of producer these days do not make a lot. Many rappers and artists these days are not looking to spend a lot either. Most can't even afford to pay up to $150, and that to me is still cheap. A quality beat goes for at least $350. Most artist want everything for free or a $20 beat with tag. The downsize of music making is that you also do not make a lot either. You would have more chance if you become a composer instead. Unless you are like Dj Mustard. My 2 cents.

I was always curious about these people who take I-phone to a Jay- Z concert or some other big name star and record some of it and plaster it up on YT and get millions of hits.

Iam sure they must get some kind of property infringement.

But they seem to get a lot of hits before they are forced down
