Hi
I am a new affiliate. I want to start promoting clickbank and amazon product, So I heard people saying to make a blog and write a review of a product then drive traffic to the site and do SEO. Do this work? Any other solution?

Don't bother. It's not that easy... You need to learn a lot first

Great advice, amazing contribution to the thread. Well done, mate. Thanks for your help.

P.S. OP read this > How to Boost Blog and Website Traffic with Article Marketing

Yes, it is an article from 2010, but ignore that and just do what's explained there.

        Agreed, great article.

P.S. OP, just ignore everything Tuliwanker says on this forum, he's a jaded little kid who shares most of our products on Blackhat forums and STILL struggles to make a living from IM!

Best of luck OP, feel free to reach out or PM anytime to shoot the sh!t

    Avoid SEO.

Affiliate marketing is far more complex than you've been lead to believe, and starting with SEO will only make matters worse for you. Almost every new entrant to IM takes the same route. That route being this: "I'm going to choose a juicy market. I'm going to get a blog (usually a free one). And if I write my heart out each day, it'll pay off soon enough." Wrong, wrong, and wrong. I cannot even begin to put into words all of the reasons why this won't work. In a nutshell: you'll be competing with chaps like myself (and better) who don't aim to just rank keywords, but to take over entire search pages. (Incidentally: one of the reasons why, when you do rank and make money, never let slip the site or the keyword. People will know all your keywords, your business inside and out, and force you right off the page.)

Now I've painted a pretty harsh picture (an accurate one, though). So now let me throw a ray of hope in your direction.

You want to get your feet wet with a simple-simple model. And one that will pay off pretty quickly if you put in the effort and you have the smarts.

    1. Squeeze.
    2. Pay per lead offers in your Sales Funnel (for now).
    3. Drive traffic from YT.

Literally keep it that simple. And believe it or not, even that isn't entirely simple, not for a beginner. Do that, though, and you'll be building a stable business with your list and using a traffic platform that's pretty easy and cheap to employ.

It's not that easy you're thinking of - just create a blog, do seo, bring traffic and make money. Not so easy dude.

Reseach for the right product first, cr
eate a blog, a squeeze page, offer something free, then do some ad campaign to make some quick money.

The way I would do it is build a list using a squeeze page related to the affiliate products you're looking to promote.

Then offer them a very low end product or a free report you have put together yourself.

Then you're building a list of customers. Offer them value and build a relationship with them.

Then promote good quality products in exchange for an affiliate commission. Don't sell them crap, or the relationship you have built with them will be ruined.

You know what... it can work. It's just not what it used to be with regard to SEO traffic and being at the whims of the search engines. Sure you can make affiliate sites but get used to learning you need to work on multiple traffic sources. It's that Dan Kennedy thing about the most dangerous number in business being one (e.g. one traffic source).

But to help get started the best bit of advice I've heard recently was NOT to start looking for products to punt but to look for people with a problem to help. Then from the problem you find the product.

The reason for this is you can chase your tail finding products and never get them to convert. But if you focus on a problem... then it's easier to plug a product, the solution.

Plus. (this is the really important bit) when you find a group of people like this to sell to you'll discover other similarities between them. Which means you can expand out and start to cross sell these other solutions (as opposed to setting up a second niche site that's totally different where you're starting from scratch again. Now you can use the first audience to seed the second.

    If you follow.

ok, choose 1 kind of products for each blog, I advise you clickbank products because thier commission usually are higher.
you need a blog, ok, but the system should be: traffic -> squeeze page (created with an autoresponder, I suggest you mailchim or getresponder).
in this way you ll create your mailing list. Aftr that you should send mail at your subscribers with link at your products page.

Traffic is the hrdest and most important thing. you must study some methods. I suggest you to learn google Adwords and Facebook Ads.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, having a blog and building a list is the customary way to go. Doing this will not only allow you to get traffic from the search engines, but having a list will allow you to promote products over and over, again. In essence, your list is like a second income stream for your blog.

It can be done this way BUT it is not easy and takes a lot of time and work.

Six years ago you could do it relatively easy.

    Not anymore.

And what Tom says holds true.

SEO is not what it was 5 or 6 years ago.

    Its just not.

I would steer away from concentrating too much on SEO.

    I really would.
As Tom said YT is good as well as FB to drive traffic

Try making video reviews instead and you may be able to get better results!

But the way for the long term business is always to build a list of prospect and then you build relationship and help them solve their problems.

Don't start with reviews. If you're going to go the blog route, start with good content, and add a few reviews. Don't focus on the reviews. Get traffic first. I took a shortcut and bought a blog on Flippa that already had traffic and added reviews, but that way isn't easy and you can end up wasting money if the blog traffic drops.

What you mentioned does work. Doesn't cost you much but time and a few dollars to set up the blog. Do you know what blogging platform you'll be utilizing?

    Hey folks,

Another newbie, here, but I'm working on an info. product (self-hosted video tutorials for small-business owners and entrepreneurs that want to make their own websites with WordPress).

I signed up with JVZoo, but I'm not really sure what to do, next.

I'm working on building up my street cred., offline; speaking at WordPress meet-ups in the northeast / attending WordCamps / earning Google Analytics Academy certificates / doing consulting work, but (ironically?) I have no idea what it's store for me, online. This is my first Warrior Forum post.

I'm probably oversharing, but I know there's a lot of smart people on this site; so if you have any advice for a budding entrepreneur--whether it's about commission or etiquette--I'd appreciate the feedback.

Timeframe: I'm wrapping up QA, this weekend, and I'm planning on launching a beta version at the end of next week.

    Thanks!
