Hello.....

In your opinion, if you was just starting off would you go with Clickbank or JVZoo first?

Thanks in advance,

If you are building a list go with jvzoo.

If you are buying PPC traffic then clickbank is the way to go.

In both of them I would choose Clickbank. The products are ALREADY popular online and moreover people already know Clickbank.. Maybe in the next few years (or maybe months), JvZoo can become more popular, who knows

That's the oddest and probably one of the most incorrect methods of assessing the two.

JVZ's list building integration only works for vendors, not affiliates. So that's nonsensical. Direct Linking with PPC is a good way to lose your money. It's certainly not the answer you'd expect someone like you to give, whom I've seen touting list building.

Clickbank has a terrible reputation in the minds of most consumers...if they've even heard of it. And no, the products are NOT already popular online. Again, this is a nonsensical answer.

@OP If you're brand new, then affiliate marketing is NOT the way to go. You need to educate yourself, and offer a service to make money. Keep your day job if you have one, or keep looking for one if you don't.

The thing with JVZoo is that you won't get paid (if you make any sales) until the vendor decides that you get paid. You won't get instant commissions for a long time. Not until you create relationships with specific vendors.

The thing with Clickbank is that they have the Customer Distribution Requirement that has to be met before you start getting paid. It's something like 5 sales from 5 different customers with 2 different forms of qualified payment. So even if you get 5 sales from 5 different people, but they all had VISA cards...you're not getting paid yet. This CDR turns a lot of wannabe affiliates away from CB.

So there you go. Like I said, you should educate yourself, keep your job, sell services to make some money. Once you "get" this business, then you can try taking a stab at affiliate marketing or vendor marketing.

Thanks for the info....I've been trying to educate myself for quite sometime now but I joined this forum just last year. I do have several ideas and a business plan in mind. I totally agree with you about having a job. I do have a very good day job and have had it for quite sometime now so I'm not looking to quit my job. I just wanted to learn something new and earn an extra income if I can. You gave me some valuable info, truly appreciate it

If you are talking about being an affiliate I would go with the one that has the products you want to promote, with that said, go with both.

If, on the other hand, you are a vendor then you need to look at the features offered by both platforms and go with the one that suits your needs

  • I see mostly allot of personal opinions and statements being made here in this thread that are not necessarily based on fact, however written as such.

The best way to find out which platform might be the right fit,
is to actually set up accounts on both, learn all you can about both platforms, watch or read the free tutorials that are available about each platform, and then just promote suitable products from both platforms to see which one you prefer.

Each affiliate platform (or any other product or service where people ask "which one is best")
will have its benefits and drawbacks. You need to develop your own experiences, and draw your own conclusions, as you will be the one using it.

This is why I don't read consumer reviews on any products.

If I were you, I would be an affiliate of whatever product you feel offers the most valuable content. It could be on either. I'm certain you've probably purchases some products online before from one or both of these vendors. Promote the product that you feel is the most helpful out of the ones you have used.

It also depends on your traffic sources. If you are using paid traffic, then I would go with Clickbank since most of their offers give larger commissions. Free traffic it doesn't matter as much but I would choose the lowest barrier to entry so that you can maximize your subscribers and buyers for your S.L.O.

Clickbank gets my vote. They're both great companies. But in truth, it doesn't really matter.

If you don't know how to effectively sell anything online.... you won't make money from any product on Clickbank or JVzoo.

Become a master marketer, and i promise that you will re-word your question, and see the objective/task in a different way.

First, I would choose what niche market I am going to work with.

Second, I would research my market to find out what problems people have in that market.

Third, I would check on JVZoo and Clickbank to see if someone has a solution to those problems.

    Then, I'd choose which one....

Finding what products to promote is not really a big deal, because nowadays there's tons of them, especially when it comes to larger markets, like weight loss or muscle building.

What you need to think about is how you're going to generate traffic, because that's what really matters. The products come and go, but you need to learn how to consistently generate and maintain good quality traffic.

Clickbank would be better to start with because it is easy to get an affiliate link without asking the product owner to promote their product. JV Zoo requires that you apply to promote a product and if you do not have a track record, chances are, product owners might deny you.

If you're looking for a "one stop" solution where you can pick a niche and then select from several products to promote either of those will work. Personally I've had no problems getting approved to promote on JVZoo.

If you're not a total newbie and already have a website then you might also want to look at Commission Junction. It's a bit more arduous but greatly expands your list of potential products to promote, many from brands people are familiar with.
