I have made $95 in amazon comission in the last two months, but I get less then 2 views a day. Help!

So I am really happy that this has been my best converting website ever. With in the last two months I have been selling high ticket items through amazon affiliates ranging from between $100 and $1600. The problem is I only get about 1.5 views a day on my site.

I cant compete for many keywords because they are all controlled by retail sites (0 competition otherwise). The website is a niche product review site and for the big words I am on the 2nd and 3rd page.

Would it be worth my time to make a blog that doesn't really have anything to do with the product but rather about the lifestyle of people who would use the product. For example if the site was about reviewing Kitchen Knifes, having a blog about cooking instead? The domain is targeted for sales. "www.buyaXYZ.com"

If I do, go about the blog idea I was thinking about trying to do one product review and one blog post a day. I know it wont be direct traffic but it may help generate some leads. I was going to abandon the site all together once I realized it would be hard to beat the big box stores but now that I have seen a profit I want to keep going with it.

The website is 4 months old if it matters.

All the best.

Very good. If you can earn a good amount of money with this small traffic, you should do some SEO to increase your site traffic, to increase you earning. I choose the do-follow link more & more than the No-follow link, because the Do-follow link increase the site traffic & Page rank at the same time while the No-follow link will increase your site manual traffic. so do some Forum posting, Article submission, Blog commenting, bookmarking, rss & some other things like these. Thanks.

First let me say congratulations, well done!

1.5 views a day is kinda low.

Starting a blog to target your product keywords is a good idea.
However what is wrong with just using the site you already have and scaling up w'at is already working?

      I would

      1. Find out which products you have sold the most (look at what is working)

      2. Find out why it is working e.g it a maybe a certain keyword you are using might be getting a lot of hits/visitors

      3. For that certain keyword drive as many backlinks or use whatever traffic means possible to rank it even higher so that Google and other search engines can send you a lot more visitors than you are currently getting.

      Hope that was of assistance!

But if the top 10 links are walmart, target and other big authority sites. Can I beat them?

I would go the blog route with the reviews as a category on the blog.

I would make that blog into an authority in the niche by posting great content and getting it distributed.

For the reviews I would send Bing PPC traffic to it. Currently I get 8 cent clicks there for amazon products and it converts well.

Once profitable on Bing move to Adwords.

See which keywords convert for you and invest your profits into some good soid white hat seo campaigns.

Build a list, create a forum and use social media.

Thats a recipe for a 6 or 7 figure site.

    Cheers

  • Hi TheLostEyeball

Good idea to a cooking blog, many women follow the cooking blog!

Sai define what was the best-selling product? If yes, do a little 'advertising only that product, people love to specialists not the spin doctors!

You have to think out of the box to compete these days for amazon affiliate income.

Must use comparison tables in your product reviews. End users tend to compare items for ensuring they are getting good out of their purchase.

try to address some common questions that may arise regarding that particular product. Put yourself in buyer's shoes and think the same way. You can get these questions idea from Amazon Product Page but don't copy word by word.

Unique content is still the KING.

Create web 2.0 backlinks to your product review. 20% on homepage and 80% on the product page. Use unique or high quality rewritten articles for this purpose.

Hope you will get good results.

Your results are showing that your website and content has the potential to convert visitors into buyers. You cannot get good amount of traffic from Google. Try getting targeted traffic from other paid sources. I suggest trying facebook Ads. Make a facebook fan page. Promote it. Buy traffic for your fanpage and website. As you are promoting high ticket items. 1% conversion will be great for you.

It seems like your successful going the blog route, so stay the course there. It also seems like you know how to generate a sale or two, so i would suggest going back to what you were doing before, when you made the $95, then scale up.

No matter what your blog is about, i think you should focus on guest blogging, and probably some more press releases, so you can get as much content out there as possible. Making one post a day with good SEO mechanics is essential too.
