Is .NET domain name worth?

I can get quite nice, short domain. It's really short, but it's NET.

When I'll get more skills I want to build blogging site. Is something.net worth or should I get .com

Thank you and have a nice day.

I've started a couple of companies with the .NET TLD and then purchased the .COM once I saved up enough profit to do so.

I always shoot for the .COM first, but if you have too, nothing really wrong with it IMO.

I think .net is totally fine too. I have a friend who started her site on .org and then when it started making money she bought .com for $500 or something like that

What do you mean if .net domain is worth it or not? Obviously .net is worth every bit, and like the above blokes are saying ^^

"You dont need a million dollars to buy a domain name" and "prices for domains vary from name to name, infact there are a lot of factors."

I would consider getting myself a .net domain if I am in the IT industry, or if I plan to book all the domain extensions that relate to my brand.

    Hope this helped.

  • .Net is probably the second best extension after .Com. I would say buy the .Net if the domain is short and good.

    Yes - google.net, yahoo.net, facebook.net - I'm sure those are worth a bundle.

Point being, the domain name has less to do with the success(and worth) of a business than ever before.

  • Hi Springy

    Yes, of course you can buy .net, the important thing is that it is good domain name;
Then if you really want the .com, once you scraped together enough money you can buy.

We all prefer .com domains but technically There is no problem with .NET in terms of SEO etc. If you can get a nice name in .net then go for it.

.com, .net or .org are good choices to go after. If .com is not available then must use .net. The real factors to be successful, will be your unique content, on-page seo score and social presence.

    Regards!

.Net is the second best after .Com...

If at all possible. I would go after .com followed by .net then .org .biz and on and on...

I've seen more than a few .net domains outrank .com sites with same name except for extension. Go for it.

    when the .com's are available...

.net's & .org's usually work well for me - not much difference in terms of SEO benefits either !

Thumbs up in my opinion Good luck !
