INTERNET MARKETING

I see this offered on some of the WSO but I'm not sure what it is. Can anyone explain?

You create a blog or many blogs and you use software to machine-generate blog posts so that you get 1000's of posts. Not recommended if you don't like spam and wish to remain white hat.

Also not recommended if you're like the poster above and make recommendations based on totally false assumptions. Automated DOES NOT mean spam, and there's nothing black hat about it. Violating copyright law by abusive use of scraping techniques IS black hat (and illegal).

But "autoblogging" is not that. It's just automated blogging. You ever post date a post on your blog so it would publish while you were doing something else? Congratulations, you're an autoblogger.

The work of creating, maintaining, and promoting a blog is largely mechanical, brainless busy-work. Why WOULDN'T a sane person use the power of automation to take care of all of that for them so while the blog runs itself and makes money, I can go do something I'd rather do.

Like hang out on the warrior forum all day.

I have a few sites where I get constant streams of articles added automatically.

The only thing is they also have a resource box at the bottom which means it's legal.

I've had no problems with them and have no problems with duplicate content.

There are several great autoblogging plugins I've found and my sites are white hat and I've never had a complaint from using rss feeds with attribution back to originating site. Also get good pagerank on most of the sites. There's a new one called WPRobot .. kind of expensive but worth it. It pulls in clickbank products, amazon products, ebay products, youtube videos and articles with your affiliate link automatically in for the products it pulls in. Autoblogged also has a great plugin that works really well. Uses rss feeds or you can pull in posts using keywords.

Its an awesome concept. I haven't tried it out yet but I have heard great things.

I keep on hearing about a system called Wordpress Direct but I would assume that you can do all of the stuff they offer yourself.

  You are 100% right about Wordpress Direct.
  
  To the Op listen to Keith,rezbi, and sbucciarel.
  
  There are ways to make an autoblog not look spammy. You can combine your own "unique content" with an autoblog.
  
  Autoblogs are good for people that are busy and have other business's or for those that are to busy to post.
  
  They also can help build a residual income. I personally know you can flip them (sell them), as I just sold 17 of them a month ago.
  
  And there are different types of autoblogs. For instance an Ebay or Amazon affiliate store. This is technically an autoblog, it is auto updating via an RSS feed. But if you combine that with maybe an intro paragraph for each type of item/ on each page then you have an auto updating "blog" that Google will like because daily-by the minute- your content is changing.
  
  And that method is basically a store. Then of course there are other methods that can create value for your visitor. Two of my niche's for my autoblog were= baby gear & fenton carnival glass. The babygear site got tons of traffic that stayed on the site. There was video, yahoo answers, articles and my own articles. This all built staying power for my visitors.
  
  The other autoblog (fenton carnival glass) had staying power plus, there are not alot of websites that deal with Fenton Carnival Glass.
  
  I guess I'm trying to say, "yes" autoblogs can be useful, you can make money with them (though I've heard it takes alot of them), they are, flippable, and not all of them are spam blogs.
  
  If you want to see a good example of an autoblog and get an idea of a successful autoblog look at Techcrunch (not my site).It is very popular.

Autoblogging is about increasing productivity - it would be like calling the industrial revolution a bad thing. lol. There's targeted, useful, beneficial automation and then there are splogs... but to call all autoblogs spam is absurd.
